First off, sorry if I owe you comment or message replies; I've been crazy busy this week, so my LJ time has suffered. I'll definitely get back to you tomorrow.
Second, I just finished watching today's premiere of Doctor Who's season five (thanks to the magic of the Internet!), with the new Doctor, Matt Smith (Eleven). He's excellent, and the show is still fun, but it's lacking the heart that David Tennant brought. I felt an immediate emotional connection with DT, but I feel about MS like I did about Christopher Eccleston's Doctor (Nine): He's great, but the instant "ZOMG! I love this guy!" feeling isn't there... at all.
I'll keep watching, because I love the Whoverse, but it will be an entirely different experience for me than it was with David Tennant's Doctor. It might continue to be a fun show, but my passion for it remains stuck in the first four seasons. I mean, with season five comes not only a new Doctor, but also a new companion, a new TARDIS interior and a new beginning -- which adds up to too many damn changes at one time! *sobs*
Oh, well, I'll always have my DVDs. *clings*
