Written for 100 Words after watching a beautiful summer storm pass over last night. Cathartic, seriously.
Darkness, thick like ink. It blocks the senses, blinds. The ominous sound of thunder from above. One flash. It illuminates everything in it's wake. It's one flash, blink and you'll miss it. The clarity, the sudden look of the way things really are. It's terrifying, it fills you full of fear. It's suddenly the world as you should see it. Scary, beautiful and bright. Be brave. Open your eyes in that one clear moment. Drink it in, memorize the lines and images. Take those moments and find your way. Remember the sudden moment of light in a world of blindness.
