There are a lot of things worth updating about, and I've finally got the time to type it all out! Yay, spring break!
First of all, Kat is already gone. That's always depressing. Good thing I took blackmail photos a-plenty of her before her departure. And I promise not to post them on Facebook and ruin her chances of getting into a college...if she promises to call me more often.
Secondly, I got the lead in The Philadelphia Story, which I think you all (both?) already knew. I've said this many times, but I'll say it again for the last time: as much as it rules to be the lead in a show, it's never fun to play opposite your ex-boyfriend. Oy vey. At least Neal and I won't have to kiss each other onstage; also, we don't actually get together until the very end of the show, so it's not terrible. In fact, until the last ten minutes of the show, we play ex-husband and wife, so our awkward, tense chemistry is surprisingly appropriate.
Anyway, I'm semi-permanently dying my hair red on Wednesday to get an idea of what color it'll need to be for the show. Common responses to this decision: "Ew. Red? Really? They can't just use a wig?!" "Cool. It'll wash out eventually, right? Okay, yeah, good," and then, of course, the surprisingly blunt, "Don't do it. You'll look terrible." Well tough shit, a-holes! I have to do it! The stage is set up so that instead of using the 1600 seats in the PAC, we'll be seating 250 on the actual stage each night. The set will be built in the right wing of the stage, and it will be set upon a turntable so that we can change between using a living room setting and a patio setting. The 250 seats will be set up in the left wing of the stage, and it is because of this close proximity and more intimate audience size that I cannot wear a wig. So there! And to be honest, I'm really, really excited for the change in hair color. I think it will be refreshing.
Spring break will last for only another week, but in that time I have to take two practice SAT2 tests in all of the following: math, literature, and French. I'm also considering preparing for the history SAT2, but I can't decide quite yet. I also need to buy my prom dress, which I always dread. I fear I'll find a better dress as soon as I've bought another and ripped off its tags. Morgan and I want to go to Disneyland on Friday, as well, but she's getting her wisdom teeth out tomorrow, so it all depends on how quickly she heals and such.
Anywho, Sarah-kins is in town until Friday, so maybe she can help me look for a dressy-poo. She can also help me keep my mind off of the fact that I've finished reading City of Ashes, Cassandra Clare's second novel of the Mortal Instruments series. I am definitely going to write a full review of it at some point, but for now I'll just say this: it was much, much more impressive than the first book. I really loved it.
Okay, I'm off to bed for now. Good night, my imaginary readers!
