a new me for a new year

it was an enjoyable
if
somewhat
busy
break
over the holidays

Christmas
at my sister's place
was good

the drive
to and from Twig
was long
but
we made it through

we watched
Avatar 2
with Leo
we all thought
it was good enough

a lot of eating
and running around town
was enjoyed
by all

Leo
got an amp
for his bass guitar

I admire
his musical interests

I spent too much money
on books
but
what is new

I am looking forward
to some chill weekends
ahead
hopefully

Roger's son Kirk
died of cancer
just before
Christmas

his memorial
will be
in a couple weeks
owing
to Kelly's family
having to travel
from Idaho
for it

I didn't get
much
for Christmas
but
it was good
to spend time
with family

I have to catch up
sometime
with Ryan soon
since
weather
did not permit him
to get down
here
over
the holidays

I read
about
42 books
this year

not my best year
but
not my worst

I need
to work harder
this year
and
avoid
the Total War: Medieval 2
a bit

I also
have not
watched
enough
movies
this year

another thing
that
I have
to get on

so it goes

I wonder
how everyone else
is doing
