This is a little late in coming, but what a fantastic few days I have had.
Friday night's Hafla was without a doubt one of the best we've ever had. All the Belindancers danced beautifully, and made be very proud. Treen even rose the the occaision of the wrong music. (In my defense I mistakenly put "Salam" on the cd instead of "Salma" not a lot of difference in the titles so I think I can be forgiven)
Rounding out the evening were special guests Ruth, Neely's Daldance class and Poi artists Leslie and Rebecca! Lovely offerings from all, I was so entranced by the show I kept forgetting it was time to go out and introduce the next act. I'd be standing there applauding with a big stoopid grin on my face and then think "oh crap I gotta be onstage!" haha.
Saturday I taught a couple of keeners in my morning classes then baked stuff for the tea party on Sunday. The High tea turn out was good. Trina wore a hat and gloves and Andie brought her new fellah, he's very nice but I doubt he'll ever subject himself to another one of my girl-heavy parties again. Poor guy, he was totally outnumbered, but I suppose we were outgunned HA! Everyone had lots of fun and we ate for a solid three hours, funny how you can eat tiny foods like tea sandwiches and cream puffs for along time and never get exactly over-full.
Judy and Janet both brought me flowers so my house looks beautiful right now, and smells good too.
Monday Di and I went out to lunch with Trina to celebrate her birthday. We went to Cafe Michele, lovely food, vaguely rude waitress, a true haute cuisine experience. I had a curried chicken crepe with french fried sweet potatoes, mmmm and coconut cream tart for desert. I recommend it, but only if you have time to eat slowly, they make everything on demand. Treen said the soup was good too.
Anyway I am off to work with some teen girls in a middle school in my hometown, should be fun, it's a nice day for a drive.
