First things first: it is officially summer. Why?
I went to the Chili Cook-off on Sunday (a.k.a yesterday) with my mom and dad, my bff Nobi, and her mom. I wore this v-neck top thingy that was cut rather deep, so I wore a camisole under it, though it was still rather low cut.
Anyway, silly little me forgot to put on sunscreen, and so I came home and changed my shirt, and blah blah blah... Then I went to shower and removed said shirt and found that my boobs were bright lobster red.
So, my first sunburn declares the season has officially changed to summer.
See, once either me or Robin, a friend of mine who also has white skin that burns very well, get a sunburn it is really truly summer. This last summer I didn't get burnt at all, at least not badly. It was Robin who's skin was horrendously red for ages.
ANYways...
Good News / Bad News:
Good news!
I have a life again! I was with my mom all day Saturday, cleaning out the pond in our backyard and things. I had to lift like 50 pounds of rocks. >.< And then we had to clean all the hairy algie off of it. There were three bags. Two were light weight, like maybe 10 or 20 pounds, and then there was one big one that weighed a shit load, and I was being nice to my mom's bad back and carried that one. Ouch.
Anyway, I'm getting distracted by everything... So, we cleaned the pond, then went to CPK (California Pizza Kitchen) with Joyce (my bff's mom, and also my mom's bff) and then we went to Barnes and Noble, where I saw Carl and his gf, who actually isn't all that cute. And, now that have had the chance to think about it, neither is Carl. Just sort of average, really. He's pleasant, but there is really nothing of interest. He has a nice hair color. It is rather interesting. Red and orange and brown and blonde. That was probably what caught my attention the first time. I'm such an artsy geeky thing, noticing colors.
Then yesterday I hung out with Nobi and saw Robin dance, and talked to her for a bit, and yeah. It was pretty awesome.
I'm definitely going back to Foothill for my Junior year. I miss my social life. And IVC kinda sucks, 'cause everyone there is a lot older than me.
Also, I am planning on going straight to a four year college out of high school, if I can. My parents are freaking because of affordability and things, but I told them to just cool it, y'know? We've got two whole years to save up, and I can get a student loan to pay for the school things. We'll save up for the living space and all that.
Bad news... T.T
My Cousin Carla (actually my second cousin, but it doesn't really matter) had a brain hemorrhage while pregnant with her (and Cousin John's) second child. So, the child was born three weeks premature (which isn't too bad, seeing as my actually cousin, baby Ava, was born like three months premature) and then she had to go in for surgery. She's had three four hour surgeries so far, and she is still alive, which is a miracle. The mortality rate for brain hemorrhages is really high, because it is the swelling of the brain and the tissue around the brain... and so it's bad that she is in the hospital, but good that she is still alive.
Apparently, they put her in a drug-induced coma, and she woke up and couldn't talk because her head was swollen, but could hear and respond and move her fingers and things, and then she went in for another surgery and wasn't doing to good, and then yesterday she got out of another drug-induced coma and was doing better. She wasn't always awake, but she responded to her husband's voice and she squeezed his hand and things. So, basically, I've been spending a lot of my time praying. ^.^;;
Oh, and if you were wondering, the baby is a girl named Phoebe.
Phew. A lot of things to write about. Well, over all, I am doing rather well. Even though some bad things happened, miracles happened to counteract them, so yeah. ^o^
