Why I hate Living in Australia
Bushfires! Argh! I am sitting here right now waiting for the fire chief to get back to me about whether or not we need to evacuate camp. I HATE this.
I have 3 groups in at camp right now. I wish I could just send them all home. But its a fine line between being cautious and being overly cautious. The fire chief is keeping me updated but it's making me crazy.
I have contingencies in place...but it's the waiting I can't stand. My worst fear is that something will happen in the middle of the night, and we won't have any notice. They assure me that the can give me 3-4 hours notice. So far 16500 hectares have been burned out, you can almost choke on the smoke and there is ash falling everywhere.
