Fuzhou City
A suicide bomber murders more unarmed commuters in a cowardly sneak attack. This time the victims were in China. Add Fuzhou City to New York, Madrid, Beslan, London and all the rest. And all the rest that have yet to come. The Jawa Report has a round-up and, despite a PRC attempt to suppress them, images of the aftermath.

Chinese sources seem to raise doubts on the official government version of the story. It's not clear to what extent that these doubts are based on legitimate knowledge or simply on a general disbelief of anything said by the Communist government.

What many people in the West are unaware of, is that China is fighting a low-level Islamist insurgency in its Western provinces. Fujian Province, however is not in Western China but in Southeastern China. Not generally a hot bed for Islamist sentiments.
We do not yet know the political or religious motivation of the murderer. Perhaps he was a rogue Presbyterian. But whatever the bomber's motivation Victor Davis Hanson is still wrong to dismiss the jihadi's efforts in China.

Saw this via LGF a few days ago. What hits so close to home is that my wife and I have stood on that street; near where the bus exploded, in fact. Even odder, is that the reason we were there was to pick up our first daughter; even odder-er: she's from Gutian.

This might have been islamokazi related; I just don't know. The PRC has plenty of other disaffected groups within their borders. And, if you're feeling really "through the looking glass," then why not consider that this could be spun as "reactionary fascists from running-dog Taiwan have bombed the peace-loving people of Fuzhou." It's just offshore over the horizon from Fuzhou... only minutes by missle.
