[For apoxuponyou] Death&Disease!Verse - An Awry Fight

It was always the small ones you had to watch out for. Loki never liked it when the demons came from Downstairs to possess a child. And they always reminded him very much of raptors, back in the time of the dinosaurs. Small but nasty little things ( Read more... )

Ever since that first little kiss in the alleyway, Pestilence had felt the disturbing sensation of knowing when Loki was nearby. It had only increased with every time his stupid angel lips had touched hers and now she could tell when he was simply on the continent.

Which is how she'd ended up in her kitchen, washing up wine glasses, when the pressing sensation that Loki was in danger happened upon her.

Without much thought, she grabbed her new sword and leapt into Stupid's saddle, charging him through the fifth dimension until she reached the scene of the action.

He felt her before he heard the hooves thundering towards him. And before he could realise that it was in fact a bad thing, he'd been distracted long enough to lose the upper hand.

Grunting as one of the demons sank his teeth into his leg, he was distracted further still, slightly shocked when a huge surge of energy came flowing his way and threw him backwards hard against a wall.

Filled with a sudden burst of rage, Pestilence charged into the crowd of demons, placing her horse as close to Loki as possible.

"You will leave or I will kill you all."

"Pes." Loki mumbled, annoyed he'd been caught out. He didn't like being smashed into walls. Getting to his feet, he ignored the blood dripping from the back of his vessel's head and walked to stand beside her.

Struggling not to look behind her, she pointed her sword at the nearest demon, reaching back to touch Loki's shoulder and assure herself he was all right.

"You know who I am. And you do not want to mess with that."

As the demons seethed at Pes, Loki frowned and couldn't help but throw himself back in the fray. Pes was no kitten, but he felt like he should be doing something to protect her whether she needed it or not.

Banishing one of the demons to the underworld, he found his wings being pinned down as he was mauled by another, sure that the fact Pes was there wasn't really helping him. He worked alone for a reason - nobody else to worry about.

Watching the moronic angel throw himself back into danger, Pestilence realised she was going to have to start killing children and that never earned anyone brownie points.

Still, this was meant to be a special sword, so she swiped at the nearest demon child, raising a thin line of blood across his chest. The creature shrieked and gave up the body - that was one cool sword.

Realising that Loki was being torn to shreds, Pestilence leapt off the horse and waded into the crowd, hacking at the demon who had hold of Loki's wings. No one touched those wings.

Pressure from his wings gone, Loki stumbled sideways, managing to smash one of them into a demon child and knock him far enough away to give himself some breathing space.

Reeling slightly from his injuries, he cursed out loud as the wounds took longer to heal than usual.

This was not going the way she wanted. She was feeling too much, too distracted by Loki's uncharacteristic faltering, and Pestilence was not a woman given to worry in the heat of battle.

Knocking back a few more with a swift arc of her sword, she grabbed Loki's arm and started dragging him back towards Stupid.

"We cannot win this right now. We have to go."
