It wasn't like he'd even been watching, this time. He'd been too busy over in Australia having been sent down on another one of his bush fire exercises. It wasn't exactly as impressive as his raining down sulphur days, but it kept him busy and at least he didn't end up too out of practice. He couldn't exactly let his smiting skills get flabby.

Protecting her was what he was doing. But they didn't talk about that. And he certainly wasn't going to say that. Even if he was going to get his ass handed to him on a plate Upstairs whenever he put in an appearance later.

"Making sure you don't cause anymore trouble tonight." He finally answered, lying her with uncharacteristic gentleness down onto the bed. There he kneeled and looked over her broken, battered form.

Any more and he would be putting himself in line for disciplinary action - he'd already done too much. But still he knelt there, the battle in his head already won and lost.

Getting to his feet, he leaned over her, a hand resting just by her shoulder, pressing into the mattress and making it dip as his lips pressed to hers, the healing energy of his Grace flowing into her and giving her a headstart on what was sure to be a longer than usual process of self-healing.

"Rest well, Pes. I'll be back to kick your ass soon as I can."

And then, as quick as he'd appeared, he was gone, out the window in a flash and heading back Home to what was sure to be the berating of the century. It seemed it wasn't a proper century unless he did something worthy of getting his ass kicked. Figured.
