And now something about her favorite sport-Ski Jumping
Jacobsen nearly first to stop Austria
It took close to an eternity, but finally the wind calmed down in the Vogtland. After countless postponements throughout the day in Klingenthal, a fair competition could finally take place on Wednesday evening.
About 20,000 fans in the Vogtland Arena, with some of them waiting since noon, saw their patience rewarded. The second single competition of the FIS Team Tour turned exciting in the final round - but had a familiar outcome as the Austrian winning streak continued.
Gregor Schlierenzauer had his sixth straight triumph and now has 10 for the winter. The dominating athlete of the season made his youngest effort a close call and only celebrated by a glimpse of 0.9 points. Behind him, Anders Jacobsen (Norway) just missed becoming the first non-Austrian jumper in 2009 to end a competition on top of the podium. But the Four Hills champion of 2007 only managed 131 meters in his second jump and thus had to let Schlierenzauer pass him for the win.
Schlierenzauer 4th all-time to get 6 straight wins
The Tyrolean is only the fourth athlete in the history of ski jumping to achieve six victories in a row. Previously, this record had belonged to the trio of Janne Ahonen, Matti Hautamaeki and Thomas Morgenstern. Schlierenzauer's team mate Wolfgang Loitzl - another regular guest at the podium - finished 3rd in Klingenthal.
The loudest cheer of the evening came in the final when Martin Schmitt repeated his strong performance from the first round. The German finished in 4th place, right ahead of the Swiss Duo Andreas Kuettel/Simon Ammann. Kuettel might just have found his rhythm shortly before the World Championships.
Harri Olli (7th), Czech Roman Koudelka (8th), Adam Malysz (9th) and the steadily improving Markus Eggenhofer (10th) have further made their point as potential medal candidates for the Liberec competitions.
Nikki says sorry to Jutta and Rei ,because she didn't reply yet.
