1. What do you order at Starbucks?
Well, last night at my library bitch session with W, I ordered a caramel macchiato (sp?) because these seem to be very popular and I wanted to know why. Usually, as I'm not really a fan of coffee, I get a strawberry and cream drink or a hot chocolate.
2. If you could play one musical instrument, what would it be?
Probably one of the two I played for a short while: piano or violin. I am rather partial to making noise with a drum set. Oh, and the recorder because it's just obnoxious.
3. Tell me about one random encounter with a stranger that you remember
Ok. Only because this is fresh on my mind from my bitch session. The only time I've been asked out at a library was a couple of months ago. I hope I didn't already tell you this story. This guy came up to me at the desk one day and I recognized him because I'd helped him before. He is not an attractive man. The poor fellow had the two longest front teeth I've ever seen and they basically stuck out of his mouth. It was all I could do to quit staring at his teeth and focus on his eyes. He asked me some reference type questions which I cheerfully answered. Then, he started talking about his private life a little bit and mentioned that he's divorced. He starts to walk away and returns with "May I ask you a question?" My stomach dropped because I just knew what was coming. "Would you go to lunch with me some time?" "I'm flattered, but I have a boyfriend." "Really, you're not just saying that?" "Honestly, 8 years." "Oh, ok, because you're just so nice and that's rare these days." I felt like such a jerk because even if I didn't have a boyfriend, I probably would have lied to him. I really think I've told you this before.
4. What was a regular occurence in Texas that never happens in Indiana?
Bug swarms. The masses of fire ants, monster cockroaches, and ladybugs. Well, we do have cockroaches here, but I swear they were way bigger in Texas. And, we get ladybug infestations here too, but again, the swarm was much larger. Oh, but fire ants! OW, OW, OW!!!!
5. What color would you want to decorate your living room, if you could paint it?
I wouldn't paint the whole living room, just one or two walls. I'm not good with color explanations, but probably a shade of green, blue, or something. Stuff you'd see in a Pottery Barn catalog.
