Art Surrounding the Transcontinental Railroad

Sep 27, 2007 11:56

Just from the beginning of my studies, I can see that most of the art around this was photography and advertising.  Well, that's most of what I'm seeing.  Not sure if that's most of what's there.  So I'm going to be focusing on racial issues in art surrounding the building of the railroad, and maybe I can focus on art now when learning about the railroads.  School textbook art is the biggest impact, I think, because that's the primary time for the bulk of people to learn about history.  I can either choose to focus on art regarding race and the Transcontinental Railroad or historical inaccuracies in art regarding race, having the Transcontinental Railroad being one of them.
Alright, off to the bathroom and then to class.  Peace!
