#25 Kelis : Bossy

"You don't have to love me. You ain't even have like me, but you will respect me"

Just like the "Tasty"-era it took Kelis months to release that first single even though it was floating around the internet ever since she left the recording studio. Unfortunately "Bossy" was not as catchy or novelty enough like "Milkshake" to give her a hit. In the long run I feel I will prefer listening to "Bossy" because after hearing "Milkshake" 1000 times it irritates me and I prefer to skip it.

"Kelis Was Here" is a bit long, but there's a new song to discover every time I play it. I hope "Lil Star" is the hit that will save this project because even though "Bossy" has Kelis written all over it, it was not the lead single she needed. The video shows a lot of flesh, yet it's a rather classy (and not vulgar and cheap) affair with some sassy dance moves by the lady herself.

The beat is minimal, the production is slick and rough and the remixes are smashing.

So does she looks better with short hair?
