Stand off
On one side of the street are two green Volkswagens, one a 1968 beetle, one a 1989 Golf. Standing between the cars are two men. One is wearing an orange beret, a yellow shirt, and black pants. The other is wearing orange pants, also a yellow shirt, and a black beret.
The man with the orange beret is next to the Beetle is holding a set of car keys out at arm's length to the man standing by the Golf. He is holding them with his right hand. The man next to the Golf is holding a set of car keys in his right hand, also at arm's length. Both men are holding their left hands under the set of keys that is being held by the other man. Neither one moves.
Meanwhile, across the street, two women stand by a tree. They are identically dressed in black Chanel cocktail dresses. Each holds a leash in her left hand. At the end of one leash is a Pomeranian bitch. At the end of the other leash is a male Dalmation. The dogs are well behaved and sit watching the women, who stand watching the men across the street, as well as each other. Neither one moves.
At the same time, inside the building next to the cars, a man on the third floor watches the woman with the Pomeranian through the scope of a sniper rifle. His partner monitors the video camera that is recording the scene on the street below.
Across the street, also on the third floor, a woman looks through the scope of her rifle at the orange beret of the man by the Beetle while a video camera by her left shoulder records the scene from her perspective.
No one moves.
Then a child appears.
