That's the thing. As dancing ability and points go, Mya has it in the bag. However, the fans may have other ideas. It will be interesting to see tonight.
I think Mya really shot herself in the foot with the freestyle though. Remember Season two (??) with Stacy Keibler. She was the strongest dancer, but the freestyle was snoozetastic, and she ended up in third place.
Last night was the first time I've ever watched this. Mya was robbed! So was Kelly. Donny basically stood there while the professional he was dancing with did an incredible Argentine Tango. All he had to do was be in the right place at the right time to catch her. He should NOT have won. He should have come in last. What are people thinking?!?!?!
She was the better dancer, absolutely. However, the scores the judges give count for 50%, and the voting of the people make the other 50%. That's why the dancers neet to "sell" their personalities to the public and build a fanbase. Kelly and Donny did a great job of it during the entire season. People get really invested on it. That's why Joanna (you may want to watch some reruns) got sent home, and she was just as good if not better than Mya, while Kelly and Donny stayed put.
Now, unlike American Idol, where you can vote as many times you want, in DWTS you only can vote a number of times, which makes it a little bit more fair.
Come join us watch the madness next season! And madness is the only way to describe DWTS. It's hysterically funny, gaudy, and borderline ridiculous. That's what makes it so great :-)
