Top Chef -- Season Six

Oct 28, 2009 13:59

Well, DWTS double elim took place last night, and without posting any spoilers, I am happy to report that I got it right this time. Oh, yeah!

But that was last night.

In case you were wondering (and who wouldn't? *snicker*), DWTS is not my only competition vice. I am also addicted to Top Chef and Project Runway. The only reason I have not been posting about those two, is because I don't have time to post that much and I have to pick my battles. So fringe and spangles win (and I'm talking DWTS), for the most part.

Add to that the fact that both Top Chef and Project Runway start at 10 p.m., which is after my bed time (what with getting up at 5:15 a.m. to go to the gym), and that PR is on Thursdays, which coincides with rapier practice, and there is simply no time in the week for me to post about them. Especially since I have to watch the reruns on Friday to find out what happened. Sigh.

Oh, well, no rest for the wicked.

But I would not like to have this season of Top Chef go without posting my take on the surviving cheftestants, as well as the survey du jour. (Mustn't neglect our reality tv, must we?).

Kevin Gillespie = This man is a genius. If he doesn't win the competition, I will be vey surprised. He should make it to the finals at least. And he's cuddly. Yay Kevin!

The Voltaggio Brothers = Not to be confused with the Mario Brothers. Besides, they resemble each other much more than Luigi and Mario ever did, and I have a hard time telling them apart. They are both amazing. If Kevin doesn't win, it will be a Voltaggio at the top. I think that Bryan is the most reserved of the two, and Michael is a lot more mercurial. Either way, one or both will be in the finals. I am sure of that.

Jennifer Carroll = I consider her the female version of the Voltaggio brothers. My favorite Jen moment was when she was assigned to one of them as a team mate. Watching those two cook together was a treat. If she doesn't have a meltdown, she might be the dark horse to win the competition. She should be at least on the top 4 if not the top 3. Here's to hope.

Michael Isabella = Much better than one may think, but I maybe not as good as he thinks he is. Regardless, he's excellent. Definitely a Top 4 material. And he may yet surprise us.

Eli Kirshtein = Not a contender for the top spot IMHO, but extremely good. If he makes it to the top 3, I will be very surprised. But he's very enjoyable, even though he still lives with his mom (go figure). He hates Robin with a passion. Which brings us to:

Robin Leventhal = This woman cracks me up. I must say, I have enjoyed her very much, and I have laughed myself silly every time she survives another round. Top Chef winner material? Nah. But she can cook, even if I can tell that she can be annoying as crap. I think that she's reached her level of incompetence (Peter's Principle), and at this point we could start singing "One of these things is not like the other." However, if Eli gets eliminated before she does, I will fall off the couch laughing ...

Soooo, how long do youthink that Robin will last? Do you think that she'll make it to the finals? Or will she be sent home tonight? Here is your Top Chef survey. Go clicky and have fun!
