My tooth hurts and I don't know if it's because I have a cavity or if it's because I've been grinding my teeth really hard lately. I've got up every morning with a headache this week, and my last molar on my right side is really hurting. But the muscles in my jaw are hurting too. I have to be very careful about chewing on that side because I'm scared I'm gonna hurt more. Ugh. I so don't want to go to the dentist, but I really need to anyway. I guess it's time to bite the bullet.

Barry is going to get me mouth guard today while he is out so that I can use it for a few nights and see if my teeth get better. I'm a horrible tooth grinder/clencher at night, and I chewed through one mouth guard, but I lost the other one when I stopped using it because I was pushing so hard on my front teeth at night that one of them was going crooked. *sighs*

I know I was grinding hard on my left side for a while because everything ached over there, but now it doesn't ache and my right side does. Hopefully it's just where I've been grinding and not a cavity (which if it's hurting probably isn't a good sign) and not something worse like a cracked tooth from grinding... Argh. This sucks. I've been icing my jaw all day and that is helping a lot, and I took some Excedrin Migraine to help with the headache and tooth pain earlier. Once I get that mouth guard in and sleep with it for a night or two, I'll know if I have a deeper problem than just clenching because my tooth won't hurt anymore once it gets some relief if that is all it is. *crosses fingers*
