So Jenna finally got her cell phone. She actually got it last week I think, and even though it's been used it looks brand new, and works perfectly. Thank goodness that fiasco is finally over. Sheesh ( Read more... )

I always get excited when I get a new cell phone. I'm glad your daughter finally got hers, after all that crap she went through.

I'm convinced though. These companies only make these phones to last 2 or 3 years, because they always seem to go bad once you get close to having to renew your contract.

But, I've always been happy with Cingular. I've been with them for over 8 years.

Yeah, I'm glad she got it too. It really was a great big pain, but she's very happy now.

I agree with you about the phones only lasting 2 or 3 years. They do always seem to go bad around contract renewal time. But, most of the time, after a couple of years, they have some other nifty phone that you want anyway.

I really like Verizon. I just wish they would get some the cool phones that Cingular is always getting!

That's true, they always seem to come out with better phones with more stuff.

My friend has Metro PCS, I don't know if you have that over there. But they have terrible phones and since they don't have contracts, you have to pay full price for your phone. My friends phone gets terrible reception and its old as hell. She wants to get a Razor, but its going to cost her about $350. I can't understand why she loves that plan so much. Yeah, its $40 a month, and unlimited calls, but you pretty much can't use the phone if you go too far up the state, the reception is horrible and she's constantly getting dropped calls. Hell, I pay about $60 a month, get roll over minutes, get great reception, rarely have a dropped call, and get a new phone every two years.

I don't think we have metro pcs here. That seems crazy that your friend likes them so much when they don't really offer that great of service, or perks. Other than the unlimited calls it doesn't sound worth it at all.

I'd recommend looking on ebay for a phone, but I know better than to do that now! The second phone that Jenna ordered came from ebay, and went off without a hitch, but I'm too scared to even try that again! Honestly, I can't believe she tried it again.

I wouldn't get a cell phone on ebay, and now especially after all the trouble your daughter had. I'd rather just pay the full price and know if anything goes wrong with it, it will be covered.
