This is fantastic!

I love the themes of agency, responsibility, and resistance that are encoded in here. I especially appreciated that Upanasiel realized that a deus ex machina-type solution would only perpetuate the problem in the long run. I also liked that Upanasiel basically told them, "Your craving for revenge is a distraction from the fact that you need to work on being a bit wiser."

Have you written much else like this? Do you have, or have you considered, fleshing out this mythos into a larger world?
