This burn experience was quite short (less than 40 hours) and super-productive. Kylei and I arrived at 10:30p Friday night, and at 11 I started a volunteer shift (my first at a burn) with greeters (who give people their schwag, explain parking, and give directions to the appropriate camping spot), which lasted until 1a. I was going to ask the same question about why heteronormative sex made you uncomfortable. It seemed like an odd statement for you to make when reading the rest of the post.

It sounded like you had a really great experience, though! And it was really interesting to read about.

Ah, okay! I wasn't sure exactly what you meant by heteronormative, but your clarification is great. Following scripts rather than being open to what emerges between two people. That's a good distinction. Wow, you're so full of insight!

Wow, this sounds amazing. I'll think about going to the Georgia burn next year! I'm only familiar with the New England Firefly that's in Vermont each year, and it's... definitely very party-focused. There are very few events like the ones you describe and it feels a bit more like a hetero space than what you describe here. Dancing is fun but I think I'd really enjoy a burn where there were opportunities for a lot more learning! (And this gives me inspiration that I could create a camp or an event at a burn, based on exactly what I want... since this makes me think that the possibilities are wider than I imagined!)
