A much-belated photoshare from when
justben and I last went to Big Trees (wow, it's been almost three months) -- winter had come early, but there was still beauty to be found ♥ I almost want to go again before spring to see if I can find anything to enchant me in the stark nakedness of full winter.
---
this one... oh, it's so magic, I feel like I caught a bit of plant-spirit ♥ One of my favorites I've ever taken.
---
---
---
I was partly like "ugh, plastics, NOT IN MY FOREST." and partly delighted and charmed. I decided I'd come back and hunt around and make sure there were no bits cluttering the ground once Christmas was over, and yielded to the charm ;-)
---
---
I believe this stump is my favorite bit of the forest now ♥
---
natural sculpture, oh beauty!
---
♥!
---
a chandelier of brightness -- these were absolutely glowing with light in person (it didn't capture well).
---
---
such delicate colors
---
it's a sprite-cradle ;-)
---
oh, the searing undersides of these leaves!
---
this one's more true to the shocking RED!
---
I loved the serpentine curves of that dark trunk
---
gnarled fingers
---
another view of the serpentine tree (I think)
---
I balanced precariously on a propped-up rotting log to get this shot -- I just loved the lines of it
---
I WILL find color ;-)
---
...and be fascinated
---
ohhh the curves of this!
---
my theme-of-the-year photo ♥
---
more bramblecolors
---
daring little buds!
---
---
amber glow
---
stairs are an important symbol to me
---
I loved how the lichen/mold/fungus/whatevs twirled up the tree in a spiral! I was sad to see that the other tree had been cut but I trust that it needed to be done.
---
and now I'll forever be taking reflection photos, blame
justben.
---
---
♥!
---
oh my GOD/DESS you should have seen this leaf in person...
---
---
I love it so much ♥
