poem: "Enchantment"

Enchantment

it's the little things; how
your lower eyelids carefully cradle your eyes
(protecting, embracing),
those two freckles giggle on your left cheek
(proof the sun loves you),
your right ear flares to catch that which has no sound
(whispers from the fae),
your eyebrows arch and feather out like wings
(for the flights of your visions).

and maybe most of all,
the delicate fringe of hair on your chest
(because how could your shining heart go unadorned?);

that's what enchants me.

aurilion, love, poetry
