first photoshoot with alariya
Today went surprisingly well... got up earrrrrrly and alariya and I went to storeyphoto's house, where we shot in the studio over the garage. We were supposed to shoot some outdoor horseback shots, but that didn't happen because it started raining. We might do it in a few weeks... ending early was okay with me because I was using a tampon for the first time and let me tell you, I'm not doing that again anytime soon. Yuck yuck yuck!
The shoot went well, I think; alariya was very relaxed for a n00b, and the shots I saw of her were awesome. I don't know how well I did, I just couldn't relax completely -- but at least my makeup was flawless this time. And I did a damn good job on alariya's makeup, too. I will be sure to show off some of them when we get 'em in.
On the way home I realized why I haven't been able to relax as much with storeyphoto as I was at that one shoot with Bill Husted. There are a few reasons: I have to get up early and drive/ride 2 hours in the morning just before the shoot; Aunt Mary is never quite happy about Bob taking time out from the farm to shoot photos, and that stresses me out a good bit; we've been shooting non-nudes first, and I can't really relax until I'm nude; I'm not quite as comfortable with the more formal studio set-up; I'm not quite as comfortable with Bob's shooting style -- Bill's point and click-click-click seemed less artistic but it gave me more freedom; and lastly and MOST importantly, with storeyphoto I have a very illustrious reputation to uphold. I feel like I need to be not only perfect, but better than ever before. This isn't Bob or Mary's fault for praising my past work -- it is a problem just because I didn't realize it, and now that I realize it, I can fight that idea, and it shouldn't be (as much of) a problem.
I think alariya and I will be doing more shoots together -- that was so much fun. She posted about it too.
