So I have been talking for the last few weeks that I needed to get new tires for my bike as I bought the last set about 16 years ago. It was about time and after having a great breakfast with Ian and Elise we headed over to The Hub where I procured a set of quality road tires that I promptly came home and installed. After a quick test drive, where Luna chased after me crying, and then putting the little girl to sleep I set off on a ride.
I can now attest to the fact that road tires ride different on the road rather then off-road tires do on the road. They are faster and yet I can feel every crack in the pavement. It made for a good ride of which I am going to document here.
House -> 35th St -> north on paved path along Hiawatha -> 32nd St -> southbound on same path -> west on the parkway -> north on 28th -> path along the Minnehaha creek -> southbound on previous path and crossed over to the park -> down to the train stop in front of Cap's -> north on the path -> 38th st east -> home.
I like the idea of documenting these rides as it might hold me more accountable so that I can meet my goals and just not get too busy and give up. In a way Joe inspired me to start doing this. Screw you Joe.
So what are my goals in all of this. What do I want to get out of this.
1. Loose weight and lessen my chance of having high blood pressure or diabetes.
2. By the end of the summer be able to ride to Victoria(city) and back without getting too winded.
3. To look good in the biker pants when Sonja and I are roleplaying. (Do we do this?)(No dice involved(sorta))
