*dusts off the Answer desk*

I totally forgot I had not completed a meme by confusedjew in which she gave me seven questions to answer. Since I've had two months to consider my responses, I'll try to make them good:

1.What is your favorite animal and why? It has shifted over the years. At first I considered the eagle my "totem," and later in more of a Goth mode an affinity for the wolf, but since being identified with the lemur I've really come to like them, and appreciate them as endangered species. A dream vacation would be an eco-vacation to Madagascar to help in Lemur research and preservation.

2.it's your last day on earth, what do you say to your son? This is a toughie. Perhaps asking if things can be at least OK between us; an apology for not being there for most of his growing up.

3.what is your idea of the most perfect vacation ever? Going to places I've never been, experiencing new fun things, and without too much stress over being at certain places at certain times. I've found the best times are off the itinerary anyway.

4. where would you live if all obstacles were taken away and why? I've really come to like living in Indy, the blend of small-and-accessible with being a big city with its advantages. My own modest-size house, maybe in Irvington, since I like the neighborhood. Otherwise, I'd like to move back to Fayetteville, Ark. -- beautiful college town and place I really felt at home in -- if the obstacle of "no Trader Joe's" was resolved. =)

5.what was your first fandom and how did you find it? My VERY first was Peanuts comics. I qualify this as a "fandom" in that I had an extensive collection of Charlie Brown books that my parents had gotten me, I obsessively drew characters, especially Snoopy, and even started a little "Snoopy Club" with a couple of my friends. And this was when I was about six years old.

6.what kind of geek do you think you are and why? Fairly general, jack-of-all-trades geek -- maybe "nerd" would be more accurate, as geeks usually have an intense area of expertise, such as being able to code complex computers or know every line of dialogue from Star Trek. I have a talent for trivia, so I know a lot of things about a lot of things, but it's hard to say what I'd be an "expert" at.

7.what kind of tattoo would you get if you got a tattoo and why? As I age I find myself less likely to desire ink. In the past I'd thought of getting a nice Celtic cross on my arm (because I'm a Christian and I have Celtic ancestors and I think Celtic crosses are cool). One tat idea I could have used, a guy I served with in the Army had an eagle holding a banner with "SUSAN" on it, his girlfriend's name. When I told him that was foolish, what if they broke up? He said instead of getting a removal he would simply have the "S" and "N" blocked in with dark ink, leaving "USA" on the banner. Couldn't help but think of that when I later married, then divorced, a Susan. But still, I'm tat-less, and will likely stay that way.
