"It is shameful," Obama said from the Oval Office. "And part of what we're going to need is for the folks on Wall Street who are asking for help to show some restraint, and show some discipline, and show some sense of responsibility."
Huh?
Let's recap: Investment banks lose billions of dollars because they were greedy and incapable of handling large sums of money. Then, against the will of the people, the government steps in and hands these same banks billions of dollars of our money. (Well, China's money.) The bankers take that money and do the same stuff they were doing before.
Anyone ever hear the story about the scorpion and the frog? The scorpion asks the frog to take him across the river. Frog says no way, dude, you're a scorpion, and you'll sting me to death. Scorpion says, naah. I really need to get across the river. Frog says yes. Scorpion jumps on the frog's back and they swim out. When they get to the middle, the scorpion hauls off and stings the crap out of the frog. Frog says, hey, what did you do that for? Now we're both going to die, and the scorpion says, I'm a scorpion, it's in my nature.
The really shameful thing here is that 700 billion dollars in Chinese loans is now in the hands of idiot bankers.
