I'm kind of a fan of Mondays.

Today in vocal seminar, the topic was diction and people had to go up on stage and read texts and Shirley-Quirk would yell at them from the back of the hall. It was SO funny, and I really wish I was taking diction class from him. Jeff started reading a word-for-word translation that made no sense, which was hilarious, and Gabriel started reading a text in Italian that a woman is supposed to sing and he didn't know it. It was really a whole hour of fun with diction. I love Phyllis, and the whole voice faculty. Good times.

Then I came back to my apartment and tried to learn Ligeti some more. It is SO hard, but it's getting better.

20th/21st century voice music was about transcendentalism, and about 5 minutes from the end of class, Phyllis realized that the accompanist had been sitting at the piano the entire time even though no one was singing today, and she let her go an apologized. It was kind of funny in a sad way. hehe.

Then I practiced Ligeti some more. It's kind of driving me crazy. I talk to myself while I'm working on it.

At about 7 Jess invited me over to watch Kid Nation, which she DVRed. It was amazing. Some of the kids are really cute, and some I utterly despised after like 10 minutes. good times.

I had to leave 7 minutes before the end of the show because Lydia and Lauren were coming over at 8:15 to watch Idomeneo since we have a test on it on Thursday. We had a good time watching it and once we totally lost our focus, we chatted about stuff and had fun. They left at like 10 to 11. I love my new friends!
