I have a home!!!
I moved into my new apartment today!!
It turns out I have a lot of stuff. We started taking stuff up the elevator (to the 11th floor) at about 10:00 and finished at about 11:15. That was with Aunt Nancy and my parents loading stuff in at the cars, my mom going up the elevator and me unpacking upstairs. It took about 5 more hours to get things organized, and I'm still not completely done.
At 5:00 today there was a welcome reception for grad students at this swanky place on Charles Street. They gave us tickets for free drinks, and there were lots of fancy hors d'oeuvres. It was fun. I left at about 6:45 because I wanted to get back to unpacking stuff.
I really like my apartment, and the fact that it exists at all. :)
I am sad that I don't have cable or internet yet though. And I don't have a tv in the living room. Hopefully I'll be able to do something about that.
I'm super tired now, and my back hurts a lot. But it was definitely worth it. :)
