One of the really irritating things about being sick for more than one day is the requirement to have a medical certificate to show my employer. Yes, I'm sick, I should be in bed but I have to get up, get dressed and go and waste my money, tax payer money, the doctor's and my time just for a little piece of paper which tells you what I already know - I AM SICK!
Now apprarently there are some changes that may be brought in with the new IR reforms. "Page 117 of the Work Choices Bill states that employees must provide a medical certificate for every day off to be entitled to sick leave." Although Howard claims that wont be required - refer article in The Age today.

Yes, I understand the need for people to provide a valid reason for not being at work but surely there is a better way than wasting everyone's time and money.
