Very weird indeed. I look forward to the fic. (She was Ellie's kid but Tom wasn't the father, was he? I seem to remember the father being a shit, but it's years since I saw series 1.)

Yes, there was something about Maisie's father threatening Tom and then Tom getting his own back in the way that only TV spies can and then Tom being kind of surprised and disappointed that Ellie wasn't impressed. Oh series 1!

blimey! Hasn't TOm been beeen her much loved surrogate father all these years, having got back with Ellie, and doesn't he die and she finds something amongst his possessions that mystifies her, and she follows a long and complicated trail which leads her to Zoe, and then to Mi5 (maybe Tom has left her a trail, because he wants heto understand him after his death, and he likes spy games), and when she gets to MI5 don't Harry and Ruth both get knocked sideways by her likeness to Jo, and doesn't Ruth get terribly sad and Harry terribly angry (in a sort of railing against fate way) and doesn't it end with her telling Harry that she wants to be a spy too one day soon and him knowing she would be good (she followed the trail after all) but thinking of Tom and saying no?

Ha, oh that is funny! (Sorry, I am delayed because I just assumed that Maisie Simm must be an actress in S10 or something, so avoided the post. Until the truth dawned.) She does look like Jo.

Yeah, I realised that I was one of the few people who remembered that far back! And then I still had to look up Maisie and Ellie's surname to be sure.

Although she does also have a look of the actress who played Ellie, which is also fairly cool, since it's not as if they really were related. (As far as I know.)
