I'm late to the party, so I only have a few comments on 9.02: ( and they are not really spoilery. )

HEEE. YAY! I liked the format too. And I now like Beth a bit more.

The plaid shirt! And he had Dimitri wearing one too! As the only colour, I embrace it.

I have never read this fic? But would like to read yours.

Beth is pretty awesome. I still don't really care about her, but then, I didn't care about Ros either and she was also pretty awesome.

Is that what a plaid shirt is? I say checked. I always thought plaid was some kind of knitting, idk.

I am starting to think I'm going crazy re the fic. Wouldn't be the first time.

She's all right, yeah. It's strange how I really like Dimitri and he's had virtually no character development, and yet am not that interested in Beth and yet she has had some. :/

You know the one Tariq was wearing with the brown stripes? That was plaid. Dimitri's in the first scene was checked. Plaid is like another word for tartan (same type of pattern, just not of the traditional Scottish clan variety - ie, what make up kilts - made of wool, but not knitting, lol.)

IDK, I've never heard of it.

INTERESTING! (I am not being sarcastic; it is actually interesting.) Internet research shows that plaid is a North American word, which is my excuse for it not being in my vocabulary. :D Ah fandom, expanding my knowledge of random things one word at a time.

I really liked the format, too. It was new, which is impressive nine years in.

That rings the faintest of bells; if it comes to me I'll let you know. In the meantime, I'd love to read yours!

It was new, which is impressive nine years in. - I know right? It would be so easy for the show to fall back on the 'winning formula', but that they're still experimenting makes me so happy. Even if the experiments sort of fail. I look forward to more un-Spooks-like narratives!

Aaahhhh, I hope it does come to you. Otherwise I am trawling the archives all morning again. (Which granted is not much of a hardship; there are some gems back there.)

Lol, it was very un-Spooks-like. But good fun.

Maybe I should trawl the archives... I did when I first came on here, but have forgotten a lot of it. (Also, 'trawling the archives' puts me in the mind of Ben, and evil!Connie, and bloody papers... *g* Sorry.)

Me too!

I've started a rec post of really good fic (for multiple fandoms) and the Spooks section is currently the biggest (and I'm nowhere near done - there's so much good stuff out there, half of which I bet I haven't discovered yet!). You can find it here if you're interested. :) I'd love to know some of your favourites!

I think it was Zaf in canon. Running a book on them.

Oh gosh. Or was that a fic? I was totally sure until I started typing...

No, it was Zaf in canon. Jo mentioned it once, in passing.

Research is clearly required, in the form of rewatching the entire of series 5 which is still something I haven't done.

(Also, hi! You are quite the undercover operative now. The email I sent the other day bounced back, and was not really something I wanted to say in public, but I think you can guess by the date the gist of it. *g*)

hi! Thanks...I can guess! Yes I have closed that email account and generally stopped using that/those online names. But I do stop by occasionally to see what you think of the new season! S

I've now watched it (I'm far more behind than you!), and it was good, and I agree. :-)

I am just a little annoyed with Lucas now for having an obviously not sensible romantic interest for the third time in three series. Please, Lucas, and you seem so sensible in all other ways. Well, certainly for a Spook.

And the nod to Ruth and Harry's previous late-night phone call pleased me. Some of the writers can remember the past few seasons. This is good.

And my favourite thing: Harry's barbed comment to the Home Secretary: "I was assuming you didn't [know about his plan to commit genocide]". Because you never know with these people...

I am just a little annoyed with Lucas - ha, I know! What is up with that. Maya herself seems like a fairly sensible girl (especially when compared to, um, two traitors), but Lucas's need to come along and fuck up her life all over again is just not.

They seem to have a very good memory of Harry/Ruth moments, which is weird considering they can forget ENTIRE PLOTLINES in the gap between series. I suspect it's Peter Firth and Nicola Walker carrying it, to be honest. They probably write their own H/R fic.

New!HomeSec is great! I think I like him the best of all three. I do hope Harry doesn't find a reason to murder him.

Yep, Maya seems nice enough, but we need more stuffs a character to make of her...

 at the idea of PF and NW writing their own fanfic. Although they sort of did...

Also, only in Spooks: New!HomeSec is great! I think I like him the best of all three. I do hope Harry doesn't find a reason to murder him. LOL LOL LOL (So do I, though. You shouldn't keep on murdering Home Secretaries. I mean, you at least have to diversify to, say, a Foreign Secretary or the Chancellor of the Exchequer.)
