What is the chance of two people on my flist having the same birthday? I make it something less than half-a-percent. Yet, today is the birthday of both
delgaserasca and
emptyyourlife! *throws streamers and balloons* I hope both of you had/have a great day.
This is the seventh Life fic I have written since February. I don't mean seven re-writes, I mean seven entirely

This. Was. Amazing.
I have shied away from "Life" fic because both Reese and Crews have such unique ways of speaking (says this American). You did an excellent job catching them-this could have been a magnicificent, "lost" episode of Life, they sound so right. Brava.
PS of course he likes Jailhouse Rock

As for it being a missing episode, I hadn't seen any of series 2 when I wrote it but somehow it ended up being a mashup between the birthday ep and the tribute band ep? I have no idea how that happened. But maybe that is why it seems familiar? :D
(PS. I keep forgetting that it's not actually a secret that I'm writing you fic. Thus I am going to status-report to you that I have three half-written fics, but unfortunately none of the halves fit together, so.)

Also, kind of a non-sequitar, but...Crews' intonation and inflection and timbre really reminds me of Jimmy Stewart. I didn't think I could love him more, and then my mind made that weird connection this weekend, and then I did love him more. :-)
Thank you for the status report. The Yuletide fic that I'm writing is also a hot mess, so at least we're in the same boat! To be honest, though, I have every confidence in you. And I give you permission to mess with my prompt however you see fit.

I haven't heard of Jimmy Stewart, but google shows me that he the sort of dashing fellow I should probably get to know. Especially if he makes you love Crews more. (It is possible?)
I am sort of glad that you're keeping me company in the fic troubles. But I am sure you will find your way out soon! You have been on such a good fic-run of late. Thanks for the vote of confidence; the problem is mainly that your prompts are so weird & interesting that they sparked off in three different directions. *wrestles*

Jimmy Stewart is the greatest. Start with "Rear Window" (probably one of my top five movies of all time). The movie takes place almost entirely within one small apartment, yet it could not be more thrilling or engrossing. Stewart's way of speaking is very unique - I almost wonder if Damian Lewis was basing his American accent off of Stewart?
Oh, fic woes. If it's any help - I don't remember what I prompted at all (except for "mandolin"), so feel free to just go to town with those "weird & interesting" ideas. Maybe you could find some common thread to tie all the stories together, no matter how tenuous?

In other news, I would like to hear Damian Lewis' natural accent someday. Maybe I will have to dig up some of his back catalogue too... January is going to be busy, television-wise. Will keep an eye out for "Rear Window" - thanks!

Plotting and diaglogue...the bane of my existence! And so important when one is trying to tell a story.

OH GOD, I'm re-writing mine now. Argh. It'll be an improvement, I promise. A slight one.
Plot! dialogue! who needs them.
