Meme and other stuff

Hola flist, cómo estáis?
It's meme time again, because I need to distract myself (essay crisis, omg):

Name your 10 15 absolutely favorite couples (het/slash/canon/fanon) and ask people to see what trends they notice about your couples. Try to pick different fandoms:

(These are my all time OTPs. )
1. Alexander/Hephaistion (History - Alexander the Great)
2. Bellatrix/Sirius (Harry Potter, mostly due to  the most wonderful cennet)
3. Jim/Jared (S.W.A.T./real person; I haven't even seen the movie, but this is one of the best stories I've ever read)
4. Percy/Oliver (Harry Potter)
5. Achilles/Patroklos (Iliad, Greek Mythology)
6. John Paul/Kieron (Hollyoaks)
7. Gabrielle/Carlos (Desperate Housewives)
8. Brian/Justin (Queer as Folk)
9. Denethor/Finduilas (Lord of the Rings)
10. Odysseus/Penelope (Odyssey)

(Those are eithermy  current OTPs which might vanish into nothingness again or the ones I was only into for a short time:)
11. Cristina/Owen (Grey's Anatomy)
12. Sun/Jin (Lost)
13. Enis/Jack (Brokeback Mountain)
14. Jack/Ianto (Torchwood)
15. X/ Andrew (Boy Culture)

So, notice any patterns?

For RL, Greek assignment is giving my a headache. I love my Mary Renault because it's fun to work with and rich in elements that I can use for my topic, but I haven't chosen the second modern novel and the primary sources hate me. I'm sort of going with Plutarch and Arrian but I don't have the hell of an idea how to get any useful information out of them. For me it's like they rather list facts than give away their own attitude about AtG's Greekness/Orientalism, and anyway how I'm I supposed to compare something (modern stuff) to that which this something's based on (Ancient stuff)? I sort of feel that this doesn't really make a good comparison, and I'd really like to talk about that issue with my Greek teacher who's on paternal live and won't answer my email. Argh. All you university people, I pity you for having to write stupid essays all the time.

Speaking about Greek, I'm going to Greece in about 1,5 weeks!!! EXCITMENT MUCH!  .... On the downside I need to prepare a presentation about Mykene/Tiryns because I've got Greek LK (intensive course) and obviously Greek LK people need to give the other clueless guys an idea about what we're visiting. But I suppose it won't be too much work since  I've already given a presentation about the Mycanean age last school-term. Also, I discovered that I own some pretty amazing books about all sorts of Greek stuff, so those might be helpful too. (I have a worringly high amount of books that are somehow Greek related and I didn't even know that I own, but which look so amazing. I wish I had more time to browse through them) However, GREECE!!! Oh man, this excursion has been like a mythos to me since when I was in like 5th grade. It's always been this trip you go on when you're very grown-up and mature and almost graduated and just in general made of awesome, and now I'm doing it and I don't feel all that awesome, to be honest. XD

Oh, and I need to tell you this. Last weekend I went to Munich to watch a play with my German class and it was so amazing! It actually was more of a musical and therefore called "Rock-Music Theatre". It was an adaption of E.T.A. Hoffmann's "Fräulein von Scuderi" which takes place in Paris during the absolutistic reign of Louis XIV, and is very "black romance" in style, so they had it all pretty much goth-y, a bit on the disco side. The Banana Fishbones were responsible for the music, but also played various roles. All in all, I thought it was fantastic. It was very entertaining, not dry at all, and still conveyed the atmosphere of the book very well, being pretty close to the original work in terms of plot. The actors were amazing (their singing too) and even though some parts were rather ironic or morbid, some of it really touched me. *sigh*
And the best thing - they had this extra that on Saturdays you can stay afterwards and talk  to the actors when they're changed and refreshed, so I totally did that, because I'd sort of fallen for one of the protagonists (the guy who had played "Olivier", who sort of was the foster son of Madame de Scuderi and is about to be executed for a murder he didn't commit) So, he was really nice and open and told me (and the teachers who were the only ones who stayed apart from me oO) everything we wanted to know. It was just like chatting with friends, since it was all relaxed and laid-back. (You could just come out on the street before the theatre where they had some tables and chairs and talk to the actors, without any fixed schedule or anything) So yeah *fangirls* - that was great. ;-) I'd highly recommend anyone to go and watch it if you happen to be at Munich.

I hope everyone's okay, and in case someone wants a postcard from Greece, just send me your adress (here or to Mrs.Sparrow@web.de) if I don't already have it.
