Susan Archery Dress Fabric

Dec 01, 2007 04:32

It's 4:30 a.m. and these fraking medications are playing with my circadian cycle. Meh. Anywho, I figure if I have to be up, I might as well post about how the dye job came out of the fabric for the Susan Archery dress. I bought a lovely olive green corduroy with a really thin wale. (I think this kind has a special name?
auroraceleste do you know how you count the wale of corduroy?) and some RIT in royal blue and dark green. I got tired of trying to figure out how to do a test dye so I just did the whole thing since all of it cost me less than $20 for the fabric and dye together. I have to say, I'm impressed because it came out wonderfully. I'd say it's still a shade or two off but it's close enough for me. The monitor doesn't really show the color right, it really did come out a hunter green very close to the picture below. Now I just have to do the mockup on her this month and see how that's going to fit her. At last, some progress.
