So, I've just gotten home from the (free) Make Poverty History Concert. An awesome night. I probably shouldn't have gone given that I've been so sick for the last two weeks that I've barely gotten out of bed, but, well, I went.
It was a great line up of Aussie Artists:
Sarah Blasko
John Butler Trio
Paul Kelley
Kev Carmody
Hilltop Hoods (not my cup of tea)
Evermore
Lior
Eskimo Joe
Jet (last minute addition)
Plus random artists from West Papua (formerly Irian Jaya), a state of Indonesia.
Anyway, I went with my friends
skelm, Ains and Adrian, and always, we had a great time. I actually said to Ains on the phone yesterday, "I bet Bono shows up", knowing the theme of the event, and that he would be in Melbourne for the U2 show (which I am unfortunately not going to) on Saturyday night. So who opens the show?
Freakin' BONO with PEARL JAM! Awesome! Amazing! (Steve, I'm still sorry!).
Any Aussies reading this, it's being broadcast at midday tomorrow on Chanel 10, so check it out if you can. It was a fantastic night.
Perhaps more to come later...
