Yesterday,
kittyfarmer and I went to the travel agent to book airline tickets for me. Not a ticket to New Zealand - I've already got one of those, thanks - but tickets back to America and then back to NZ.
So, here are the broad details of my flights.
I'm flying out of Knoxville via Denver, LAX, and Auckland to Wellington. Leaving Knoxvegas at 9.05am on 16 September. Arriving in Wellington at 8am on 18 September. I'm hoping to cart my bags to where I'll be staying - most likely in Lower Hutt - sleeping for a bit, then heading out to Fidels and
ferlengheti's blues gig at Bodega. Warning: I will most likely be a zombie due to jet lag.
I'm planning to be a complete social butterfly while I'm in NZ. Places I'll definitely be will include
pombagira's birthday party, Speed of Sound, and Tuesday night fire spinning. And of course, I'm planning on hanging out with friends a LOT. And I'll be doing a bunch of stuff to prepare for Kiwiburn, because I won't have much (or indeed any) time when I get back to NZ in January.
I then fly back to Knoxville on 14 October. This time it's a little different, because the tickets were cheaper: Wellington - Sydney - San Francisco - Charlotte (North Carolina) - Knoxville. I leave Wellington at 6am (gulp!) and arrive in Knoxville at 11.29pm on the same day, the 14th Oct. It's going to be a very looooooong day.
David and I are coming back to NZ on the 24th Jan! We'll arrive on the 25th, briefly stop at Lower Hutt to grab stuff, and then head straight up to Kiwiburn, where we'll be part of Polly's Put the Kettle On theme camp.
Blaaaarrrrgh. In other news,
kittyfarmer is going to Japan in less than a week. He'll be in Sapporo (the capital city of Hokkaido prefecture) from 5-12 Sept for a conference, and most likely won't have very much time for shopping.
Oh, and I have orange hair again, after a brief break where it was just blonde. :)
