SERIAL EXPERIMENTS LAIN

First off, I have to say THANK YOU to my sister Sharon for lending me this!!!!!!!!!! THANKS *__*
Second, if you haven't watched this show yet, What the fuck are you waiting for!?!? Seriously!! Go see it NOW!!

Lain is a 14 year old girl who is very shy and withdrawn. Her father buys her a brand new, high tech Navi(Hardcore Computer) and she becomes infatuated with The Wired(Hardcore Internet). Soon enough, the line between the real world, and the wired become seriously blurred, and Lain no longer knows who she is anymore. She continues connecting to the wired obsessively in hopes of discovering her true self.

Serial Experiments Lain is one of the most artsy, creepy, trippy, dreamlike, existential, original and AMAZING shows out there. If you're into anime, mystery, sci-fi, and "Thinking Deep" than this is a show for you. My fake crappy little review doesn't do it justice.
Here's a teaser someone wrote over at IMDB that occurs in the first episode:
"A week after Chisa committed suicide, her classmates begin to receive emails from her. Hearing rumors fly at school, a quiet withdrawn girl named Lain goes home that day, turns on her dusty Navi computer for the first time and has a conversation with the dead girl. Chisa's message reads that she killed herself because she didn't need her body anymore, and she now exists in The Wired. When Lain asks why someone would do something like that she gets a response: "Because God is here".

Hear the awesome Theme Song! Watch Part1, Episode1! GIVE IT A TRY!!
An Awesome Fanvid using the song "Mad World" which fits perfectly.

LIKE MINDS AKA MURDEROUS INTENT

To start with again, I have to give a shout out to
mrbnatural

and thank her for recommending this Gem!
Secondly, lets all of us take a minute to bask in the joy of how beautiful young english boys can be.
I give you Tom Sturridge! Feel free to take a moment and stare or drool, or make out with your computer screen, whatever floats your boat.

Oh what a thing I have for bloodied boys. Im not sick, bite me!

He just gets prettier and prettier!

Take a deep breath! And now let's move on.

Sally Rowe(Toni Collette) is a forensic psychologist who is asked to speak to and gather evidence against 17 year old Alex(Eddie Redmayne), who is being held for the death of his schoolmate Nigel(Tom Sturridge). Though Alex was found holding Nigels dead body, with a shotgun next to them, there is not enough tangible evidence to prove Alex killed him. Throughout the movie, they show a series of flashbacks as Alex tells the story of the strange, twisted relationship between he and Nigel. As you go deeper into the story, you find out there's more than meets the eye between the two of them..

I've watched this movie about 3 or more times now. I'm sort of becoming obsessed with it. It's definitely, to me, one of those movies that the more I watch it, the more I grow to love and appreciate it. So naturally, the more I grow to like it, the angrier I get that this well written, very original movie was so overlooked and didn't catch more peoples attention. I really think that this movie is just an acquired taste. Meaning, if you have any taste at all, you'll like this movie! LOL okay maybe that's a little harsh. I also love the whole theme with the Cathars from the 12th Century. That place in time has always held my interest, and that probably has something to do with me liking this movie so much. Okay I admit, it doesnt hurt how beautiful the boys are either heh. I also love how intelligent they both are. God I wish I was at that level. One of my favorite scenes of the movie has to be when Alex is debating with the reverend during class about how the church slaughtered the Cathars because they didn't follow their beliefs, and when Alex makes his point and makes the Reverend look like a schmuck(because he's super smart!) he throws him out of class and calls him a frightful little man! Oh man it's EXCELLENT. Seriously, see this movie!!!!!
Now lets end this with some more pretty pictures!

WATCH THE TRAILER WATCH THE TRAILER IM SERIOUS JUST WATCH IT!!!!!!!!!!

I ♥ HUCKABEES

I adore this movie. It makes you think and it's fun while you're doing it. This movie is definitely an acquired taste because, well, alot of people most likely won't understand it. The movie is basically about an existential conundrum. This movie didn't do so well, but I believe the reason behind it is because people were too confused and didnt want to give it a real chance. Anything with too much depth is usually overlooked and passed over for a movie with hot young stars and lots of shit blowing up. It's definitely off beat, and I think that's why I love it so much.

Albert(Jason Schwartzman) is questioning the purpose of his life. Is his work to preserve open spaces doing any good? Is there any point? What does it all matter? So he goes to see a couple of Existential detectives, Bernard(Dustin Hoffman) and Vivian(Lily Tomlin) to help him. Along the way they introduce Albert to his 'other', a kind of buddy system they provide. His 'other' is Tommy(Mark Wahlberg& totally my favorite character in the movie), a petroleum hating firefighter, on his own existential journey. Other characters you are introduced to along the way are Brad(Jude Law) and Dawn(Naomi Watts). The storyline is way too complicated for me to explain, and honestly i'm tired from typing out this whole thing heh. This is an awesome, quirky, off beat movie! Be open minded and give it a chance!!!
