Home for the weekend! SO much joy... it's great to see tall buildings again and real highways and psychotic drivers... oh wait they have those in Athens too = P
A quasi productive weekend: I got my bike fixed because the gear shifts have been giving me trouble and got my car emissions inspected (I pass, although since we don't have those in Athens I ended up being late for the renewal ; ; but oh well).
Kate and I went to see MirrorMask tonight and it was absolutely incredible. I suppose I should preface that by saying if you hated Labyrinth, Dark Crystal, Ladyhawk, Willow, or Legend you should stay far far away from this movie. I saw a lot of parallels to Labyrinth and the plot also reminded me a bit of Talisman (the first Black House novel by Peter Straub and Stephen King). The visuals for the film were incredible and the story was great. I liked the music ^^;; and I really don't see why the critics are all giving it a D+ especially considering the fact that they give really bad movies A's all the time. I look forward to when it comes out on video and I can buy a copy (so that I can see the part that I missed due to the incredably tall guy who sat in front of me for the duration of the film ; ; ) But uh.. if you should live in one of the few cities showing this film I would recommend going to see it.
Sorry I didn't remember to put an announcement that I was visiting up on LJ for those of you in the ATL... I'll be back in a few weeks though (Oct 14th) for cello choir and a dress rehearsal for a wedding I've agreed to play for so if you want to do something then please drop me a line. ^^
