Crazy Heart/Ideas/Writing Process
So my wife Carol and I went to the movie CRAZY HEART this afternoon, a generally good flick. This is not a post about the film, however. What it is about is the germination of an idea.
You see, I was raised on country music. So I got to thinking while watching Jeff Bridges consistently screw up in general, and screw up his love interest in particular, which of course (how else?!?) prompts her to drop him.
She left him. And he's a star. But what if she left him for the stars?
So that's the idea I have for a new poem. I'm letting it marinate but I'll probably start a draft with a line or two (maybe a stanza) before going to bed tonight.
