high blood pressure + CRF
3 weeks ago : My Douce has developped a mammary tumour since we don't know when and was due to surgery.
On the morning, the anesthesiologist called me and explained that the surgery was cancelled because of the too high risk of decompensation in the days or weeks folowing the surgery.
It seems that the CRF is compensated by her high blood pressure and as a result her blood tests concerning the CRF are rather acceptable and don't tell how really bad her CRF actually is.
So, here is my new choice : let her die from CRF or mammary cancer, and all this without any sight in term of delay in either case. She is 14 years old with a slight heart murmur and fiv+. She is treated for the high blood pressure and eats special food for CRF.
I'd like to risk the surgery despite what the anesthesiologist and the surgeon have said. I took a 2nd advice at a private clinic,( they have no specialist in anesthesia as the vet school has) and, of course, there is no problem with Douce's blood results and a possible surgery in their opinion.
Despite the anesthesiologist's explanation and veto I can't understand why I was told for several months how absotulety insignifiant and bordering to normal her CRF was and why suddenly the very same blood results prevent a surgery, even though I very well know this surgery isn't a begnin one.
About this high blood pressure and CRF compensation issue , does anyone of you have any insight or experience?
