Meisa walked out of NYU's Department of Art History after talking to her advisor, glad to be done with the semester. There had been no finals to study for, not really, but she had spent the last week hunched over her laptop, huddled away in the corner of the fine arts library, furiously typing up her senior thesis. It was just a rough draft, but still, there was no excuse not to hand in a well-typed draft ( ... )

She'd answered, thank god. "Where are you?" Jun demanded, scanning the campus. "Not to rush you, but you've got a meeting in 'asap'."

He turned, looking. "Hats are fashionable and I am buying you one." She had to be here. Or maybe not. "I'm on your campus, by the way."

"Meeting? Why- who?" Meisa was confused. At first it didn't even register that it was Jun on the other end. "Jun?! What meeting?" Quickly rifling through her mental task list, she was pretty sure she didn't have any work until after Christmas. "Hats?"

"I'm on the corner of Washington Square North," she said, flustered, "Near the Silver Building. Where are you?"

He could hear the confusion in her voice but Jun was a man of action--he started off the direction of Washington Square. "I'm on my way to you," he said, answering her last question first. He picked up into a light jog. "And you've got a meeting with Aina and Aleix, the owners of Pur la Pau."

Damn it, where was--there she was. "Not that I don't love your hair, Boo, but I am buying you the brightest hat I can find. So that I can find you in a crowd." He clicked his phone shut and grabbed her wrist. And noticed her bag and coffee. "Tell me you're free," he said, struck by the thought that she might actually be BUSY here.

"Pur la Pau-?" Was all Meisa got out before Jun hung up. There wasn't even a moment to pout at her phone when suddenly, someone grabbed her wrist. "Uwah!" It was Jun, thank goodness, and she gave him a slight glare. "Good morning to you too, Jun-pon," she said wryly, "I just turned in my paper, so as of ten minutes ago I'm free."

But he had something about a meeting? What little annoyance she had evaporated quickly though, replaced by panic. "Wait, meeting? I'm not dressed for a meeting!" Jeans, ankle boots, and her older peacoat thrown over an oversized sweater did not make for appropriate meeting attire. Of this she was sure.

A hat wouldn't help matters.

She was too funny. Jun took a second to laugh in her face at her girly reaction to being grabbed...honestly, who else would have had the guts to grab a girl that beautiful by the hand without warning? He quit laughing to breathe a sigh of relief--not busy. They had time but the sooner they did this, the better. For people trying to build a brand they sure did make a lot of quick decisions ( ... )

Jun gave her a critical once-over, looking at her from head to toe - which Meisa was used to, so she didn't mind. But really, what did he expect? The semester had just ended after all. He was lucky she wasn't one of the ones who thought showing up to class in sweats was appropriate attire. There were standards, even if sweats were infinitely more comfortable.

It suddenly struck her that she was very very glad she had taken a shower that morning printing her paper. At least she looked presentable. "I washed my hair this morning, you don't have to worry." Meisa laughed as they waited for a taxi. How many times had she gone to a go-see only to be told to change as soon as she got there? Still, "I wish you had said something earlier, I'd have dressed better."

Ducking into the taxi with the help of Jun's hand, she slid to the other side and waited for him to get in. They were off once Jun gave their destination. Settled, Meisa peered bemusedly at him as she sipped on her latte.

"I'd have said something earlier if I'd known earlier," Jun said, opening his messenger bag and rattling through the contents. Container of rat brains, disguised as a pill case; encrypted jump drive for Dr. Schron and his hospital ID. His phone, his keys, emergency shirt, aha! Rosemary water. He turned to Meisa and noted her bemused look. "I got the call six seconds before I left to get you. I had to charge my phone in the cab." He spritzed the water on his hands, the sharp scent of rosemary suddenly pleasant in the air.

"Head," he instructed, rubbing his hands together and waiting for her to lean. Up front, the cab driver made a choked sound. Jun rolled his eyes and dragged his wet hands through his own hair. "We're going to spray it on and comb it through. It's good for shine and highlights." He flicked his eyes to the cab driver. If he wanted to be a pervert, Jun knew just the place for him to go.

But for now... "We've got a minute or two before we get there--any questions?"

Meisa shrugged a shoulder. It was a moot point now since Jun had found her and they were on the way to meet the Pur la Pau people. The scent of rosemary cut through the musky cab smell she was trying to stave off by keeping her coffee close to her nose.

With a smile around her cup and a raised eyebrow, Meisa downed the last of her coffee before following Jun's instructions. She shook loose her hair from the low ponytail she had it in and leaned down, giggling quietly when she heard the driver's suprise. "Yes Jun-pon," she deadpanned. She closed her eyes and let him get on with it. Free head massage of a sort. Score!

"Mmm-nhmm." No, no questions. Her brain was too tired to think of any at the moment, increasingly relaxing under the ministrations of his fingers.

The driver made a sudden jerky maneuver that caused Meisa to lose the precarious balance she had and sent her flying straight into Jun's lap. "Oh my god," she said into his thigh.

Meisa's hair was thick and soft and Jun hadn't done something like this in a long time. It was comforting, relaxing, and she was so cute making that happy noise. He could only assume she had no questions since she wasn't asking any.

Jun smiled and was about to speak when the cab jerked and Meisa lost her balance. He'd managed to not clutch her head (or pull her hair) but. Well. Her head was in his lap. He blinked stupidly down at her for a moment. He wasn't sure what to say. This was...this didn't...it... wait a second. Meisa was saying 'oh my god' and he wasn't certain--thanks to her hair over her face--but he thought she might have gone scarlet.

He was going to have to laugh in her face later. For now, he'd be a gentleman. "Control yourself, Boo," he deadpanned. Mostly a gentleman. He put his hands on her shoulders and set her back upright. Carefully. He pushed her hair back from her face. "All right?" he asked solicitously before turning to glare at the driver. "If her answer is 'no' you will be sorry," he ( ... )

This was embarrassing. Funny. But still embarrassing. Meisa could feel her face burning up. "Oh my god,"she said again with an embarrassed giggle. Jun's voice held a note of amusement in it and she resisted attempting to thunk her head repeatedly on his leg.

The driver probably already thought they were preverts if the look she caught in the rearbview mirror as Jun helped her up was any indication. Thankful for Jun's restraint, she nodded, eyes wide in mingled amusement and embarrassment. Meisa didn't trust her voice enough to speak, afraid that it would be high-pitched and give Jun more ammo to tease her later. It was boung to happen, she could feel it in her bones with the look he had on his face.

She did have to wonder what he' do to the driver had she shook her head no.

He'd missed having somebody to laugh at and tease and laugh with, Jun admitted to himself. He'd been more lonely than he'd realized. He shook his head at her as he tucked a lock of hair back behind her ear. "What would our father's say about that kind of thing," he asked dryly ( ... )

"My father would laugh his head off," Meisa replied back, just as dryly, as the taxi stopped. She took a quick moment to shake her hair out so she didn't hear what Jun said to the driver. Probably something about being careful next time, she reasoned, getting out and joining him on the curb. With a bright, if sheepish smile, she thanked the driver, only to watch him drive off quickly after getting paid. "Oookay ( ... )

Jun had been busy flagging down Helene but now that they were moving, he addressed Meisa's question. "No, no work over Christmas. They're pretty respectful of the holidays, as far as the industry is concerned. If they like you, they'll probably let the ideas bubble for a bit, skim off the froth, and put you to work in a month or so ( ... )

Meisa let out a soft sigh of relief. Plane tickets back home were expensive, changing them even more so. And she was determined to spend this Christmas with her family after missing out on the last two. She would have shelled out the cash to rearrange her schedule, but preferred not to if she could help it. Most, if not all, she made went to paying her tuition. "I will," she nodded with a smile, about to crack a joke about revealing their 'relationship', but the door opened before she could ( ... )

Watching the twins with eyes like a hawk, Jun could see that they at least liked Meisa. Who wouldn't? But liking her personally wasn't quite the same as liking her professionally, though it helped. Too, it helped that Jun had brought her up to them--he'd been with them almost from the start of their 'face' advertising. They knew he was invested ( ... )
