Meisa scrunched her nose, feeling her cheeks heat slightly at the compliment. "Nah, it really needed the both of us. We sizzle Matsumoto. Sizzle," she attempted an imitation of how their photographer had sounded like when reviewing the shots. "I have some of the fun shots printed for my portfolio." After badgering the photographer endlessly... but Jun didn't need to know that. She couldn't keep her giggles in check. "My favorite one is still the one I sent you when you left."

Chewing thoughtfully on her apple, she considered where various equipment was being set up. "Action shots would be fun." Though they'd probably be doing a lot of lean against a tree and pose shots. "Hmmmmn. Walking shots probably." She pulled her feet up on the bench and sat cross-legged. Oooh that was a leaf pile! "I really really hope that we can jump into it."

It looked like the shoot was almost ready. The two of them should probably make their way over and announce their presence. Meisa finished off her apple before standing and tossing it into the trash. "Let's go and see who we're working with. Bet you a dollar we get to jump into the leaf pile."

He snickered at her attempts to imitate their insane photographer. "Sizzle like Korean barbecue," he agreed. "You've got--" maybe he would drop a call to the studio and track down the photographer, see if he could get his own shots and... He punched Meisa lightly on the shoulder. "Now who's being a brat?" he asked. His face. But he did have to smile. "That was a good shot. By you."

Watching Meisa settle on the bench, Jun mirrored her pose, putting his spine straight. He felt good today, flexible. So of course, it was probably going to be 'hug the tree, look at the sky' sorts of poses. "I don't care if we can't jump in the pile, I'm pushing you in. So no, I won't take that bet," he said, standing when she did. "I'm hoping for somebody who knows how to use this park." It was a catalog but there was no reason for it to be boring and boxy. "You study art," he said, touching the small of her back as they started toward the setup, "what would be...I don't know, good. A good way to use this. Something more than the usual."

He trusted Meisa's eye for things like this, her sense of style, and he was really curious to how her studies influenced her, if they did, when it came to her work as a model. "And I'll give you a dollar for every one that gets used," he added.

"You wouldn't dare push me in." Meisa glanced at Jun, a mischievous glint in her eye. "At least, not if I get you first!" she stated airily. Actually, it didn't really matter who pushed who into the pile. It would be fun. A break in the monotony of typical catalog posing.

And then Jun proposed something interesting. As he guided her towards the roped off area for the shoot, she took in the sets critically. "It depends on the photographer and how much leeway he'll give us," she said, "I thinking we might be actually trying to not let the shoot run too long. Sunset-ish lighting is always very popular in the fall." Hmmn. "There's benches, trees, a fountain..." A giant pile of leaves. "... plenty of things to work with."

She added, "If at least ten get used, we'll go for Korean barbecue afterwards... your treat." Meisa paused to let that sink in then ducked under the rope to the other side, shooting him a winsome smile. "What do you think?"

He wouldn't dare? The hell he wouldn't! "You're not wearing heels right now, he muttered as he eyed the distance to the leaf pile. Too far, he'd have to carry her over and drop her in. And he didn't interrupt her thoughts.

She had a point about the light--they had something bright right now but it'd quickly change to the rose-gold tint of sunset. They WOULD have to work fast. As Meisa spoke Jun imagined using the benches and fountain and trees as more than just a pretty backdrop for standing around looking cool (or rather, warm). He also noticed that she'd left out the leaves. He did wonder about them...if they did winter wear last they wouldn't exactly be rolling in the leaves due to the work of getting them back out of their hair. But he also knew this wasn't a two-part shoot, so maybe it wasn't going to full winter or maybe the fall shots would be used as a deciding factor in doing a full winter set. Either way, there was time for dinner after this.

He ducked under the rope after her, returning her smile. "Deal. If you're psychic, I pay." He was probably going to pay anyhow. It was just the thing to do after blowing her off last time due to his poor timing. He might have been a poor zombie research assistant but that didn't mean he'd forgotten his upbringing. He lifted a hand in a bid for attention from whomever it was that was supposed to be in charge of collecting them. "Hey!" he called. "Models on the floor!" Daylight was burning.

The popular colors for fall would really complement the scenery, Meisa thought. At least if the clothing they were modeling was on trend. Which she didn't doubt since they were modeling for a popular department store. Deep teals and purples would pop while bright yellows and oranges would add dimension to an otherwise neutral outfit. And if she remembered correctly from Fashion Week, there was plenty of styles to choose from right now. There would probably be a little of everything. "Winter wear would probably be limited to outerwear again," she mused, "Indoor things are for another set."

She was amused with the way Jun announced their presence for not ten seconds later someone came weaving through the equipment, tables and racks of clothing. "Mister Jun! Miss Meisa! How lovely to see you again!" It was Cici! Or was it Arick? Meisa couldn't remember. "Come follow me and I'll show you which outfits we've decided on for today. It's going to be relatively quick, we want the light for as long as possible, no more than a couple shots per outfit. You'll have to change quickly. Makeup and hair will be simple since it's catalog."

Cici's (or Arick's) voice faded as he continued talking without looking to see if either Meisa or Jun were following. Meisa dropped her forehead on Jun's shoulder. "You don't think... Do you think it's...? No. It couldn't be... He doesn't do catalog..."

If Meisa agreed about the indoor aspects needed for something other than outerwear, there was a pretty good chance that they'd run through the winter gear while they still had the brighter light. "I--" he started to say that he agreed when he was interrupted.

By somebody he half-knew. Cici? Arick? Renee? It didn't matter--he could see the other two near the clothing racks to which this assistant was leading them. He turned his head toward's Meisa's, hiding against his shoulder. "I think it is. Maybe he's expanding. Or been demoted." Maybe he'd really wanted to work with them again because that weird little man was beaming at them and clapping from beside the racks.

"So much to do today!" he said. "Very busy, but fun tuttavia!" He clapped his hands. "Yes, yes! A few words? Words, anybody?"

"Uh, it's good to see this team again. Last time was...special." Jun said, nodding at the little group. He felt like he should say something more--what did one say to the group of people who had helped give you one of the strangest and most fun shoots in memory? "Let's all work hard."

He hand at the small of Meisa's back up to pat her on the shoulder as he leaned his head close to hers again. "Saints preserve us," he whispered.

Meisa heard the voice before she even saw the photographer. It was him, definitely. Peering through her lashes confirmed it. Professionalism dictated it, so she lifted her head from Jun's shoulder and straightened up to nod her hello around the semi-circle that had formed. It couldn't be possible for the little man to beam even more than he was already, but after Jun's little speech the guy definitely managed.

"Well said, well said!" The photographer looked at her expectantly. "Miss Meisa, anything to add?"

"I look forward to working with you all again," she smiled. It was true. Crazy though the last shoot had been, it was definitely the most fun she had had at work in a long time.

The photographer looked happy as he turned away, snapping his fingers for everyone to follow him. Meisa leaned her head back towards Jun. "God help us," she whispered at the same time he whispered.

Well, at least he and Meisa were of the same mind, then. Jun laughed a little. "If you're completely wrong on everything, you get to pay for dinner." Which he didn't mean but would be funny anyhow. He'd make sure to order a lot of food, expensive food, if she thought she was buying. Just to see her face.

He gave her a bracing pat on the shoulder and a gentle push toward her wardrobe rack before going to his own. "I love changing clothes outside in a public park in the cold," he said to the wardrobe people. He got rolled eyes in return. He didn't care. THEY weren't the ones stripping in public. Stepping behind the curtains, he pulled off his sweatshirt and slid on the plain white cotton t-shirt he was handed. An oxford-plaid cardigan, some flat-front twill slacks, and...saddle shoes. In maroon and black. "I'm Woody Allen," he deadpanned as he was handed a pair of black rimmed glasses.

"I guess it's only fair," Meisa agreed. She smirked. Clearly she was at an advantage here, knowing what sorts of shots the photographer preferred. Or so she hoped. Stuck where she was thinking, Jun's push reminded her that they were on a tight schedule. "I'll see you in a bit."

Opaque rust colored leggings paired with a cutely patterned neutral colored tea dress were the first things handed to her by wardrobe. "This is cute," she murmured, shrugging out of her own sweater and changing. Hmmn. Maybe she should have remembered the warming spell first. A pair of brown leather ankle boots were pointed out for her to slip into and then she was off to hair and makeup.

"We'll be doing loose waves and simple, neutral makeup," said the assistant she was pretty sure was Renee, "In case Cici didn't inform you. I'll go back to get the boyfriend sweater and some accessories for you while you're getting hair and makeup done."

Meisa nodded in understanding as she sat down, listening as Renee instructed the makeup artist and hairstylist on what to do before leaving.

Jun slouched over to where Meisa was sitting. "You look good," he said, eyeing her outfit. "Needs something, but it's good."

"You need a watch, Mister Matsumoto," Arick told him. "I'll fetch that. Nice neutral face for you and your hair is going to be in a natural wave for now." For now meant it was going to be gelled out later. Probably spikes. He kind of hoped it would be spikes. "I'll be right back."

Settling into the chair, Jun let the people get to work on his face. "Okay, set up the first shot for me, Meisa."

"Thanks, you look very... collegiate. It looks good. I love the glasses." Meisa watched Jun's reflection sit in the chair next to her. "I was thinking the same thing. Renee's actually fetching a sweater and some accessories." Catalog shoots weren't all bad, she thought as Arick said what he had to say to Jun. Some of the things she would actually wear in real life. Especially the dress she was wearing right now. Would wardrobe let her take it away? Her eyes flickered back to Jun's reflection.

"The first shot? That's easy. We're going to be college students." In the mirror, Renee was walking back with what looked like a book bag. "Study buddies probably, mmn, studying at the park. It'll tell a story so we can show off the clothes." Maybe the whole shoot would have a continuous story line... but with their photographer who knew?

The final touches of her hair and makeup done, Meisa stood to take the things Renee handed her. "Thanks." She pulled on the deep teal boyfriend cardigan, deciding not to button it up. The thin leather belt she fastened over it matched both the bag and the boots. "Huh, not a bad combo over all. What do you think?"

College students? Jun shrugged and tipped his face for the eye liner. "Study buddies? That fits." It did fit, even though they were quite dressed up for studying. "Pretty fancy stuff for studying," he said, letting a little bit of disagreement slip in. "I think we're getting walk-in-the-park roman--" he stopped when he saw Meisa's accessories. "Studying," he fished dryly.

He stood up and accepted the artfully distressed messenger bag from Renee and slung it over his shoulder, pushing it to his back. "You won this one," he told Meisa, smiling. "We'll see about the rest--" he paused to look around and make sure they weren't easily overheard before leaning conspiratorially close "--with this guy, I doubt we're going to get something normal." He straightened and gave her a once-over. She looked great, fresh faced and smart, attractive in an approachable way. "You look good," he told her. He offered out his arm.

"No, no Mister Jun!" the photographer cried from afar. His voice was loud and carrying and Jun imagined the passersby staring. "Not yet! We're not with Miss Meisa yet! Come, come here! I will tell you! Miss Meisa, with Cici!"

Jun offered her a mock bow. "Oh, this'll be great."

"Oh Jun. Dear, dear Jun," Meisa grinned as she was about to take his arm, only dropping her hand when the photographer cried out. "It's a study date. The studying? It's just a cover. We just don't know yet."

There wasn't much time for her to elaborate. Cici had appeared out of thin air and was urging her towards the set with a fountain. "I'll see you in a bit," was all she managed before being led away.

"Okay Miss Meisa," Cici said once they were at the fountain, "We want you to sit here and look like you're waiting for Mister Jun to arrive. Just be casual." He handed her a book. "Pretend to read while you wait. It'll be Mister Jun's solo shots first while you're in the background." Meisa nodded her understanding. "Good. Position yourself however you want and I'll go tell the others we're ready."

Deciding to sit at the edge of the fountain while 'waiting', she got comfortable and opened the book she'd been handed. "Bridget Jones' Diary, not exactly scholarly material," she murmured, opening the book and reading.

"Mister Jun!" the photographer enthused. "Again we're going to be meeting Miss Meisa! Not a first meeting, no not that romantic! We're going to be having an anticipated first re-meeting!"

Yeah, definitely Meisa's win; a 'study' date. She was good. "Sounds good," he offered.

The photographer clapped again. "Lovely! So, we're going to be going to her confidently, eagerly! But yes, with some nerves. Ah, Cici! She awaits you! Go!'

Jun took a deep breath and fought back a bit of a laugh as he turned to Meisa. He could hear the camera start clicking away as he walked. Slow, letting the motions get captured without a lot of blurring. He tried to remember dating--it had been a while and the last time hadn't ended well (or really, started well either). He ran a hand through his hair, artfully, and kept his eyes fixed on his friend in the distance. What the hell? Was that Bridget Jones she was reading? He adjusted his bag and tried not to snort. "Meisa, what are you reading?" he called to her.

"And pause, Mister Jun! Pause there! Turn, let the light come to you!"

Snippets of the photographer's excited set up of the shot floated Meisa's way. A 'first re-meeting'. She hid her laugh in the book and wondered with amusement how many 'first meetings' she and Jun had had since the first shoot they'd ever done together. It seemed that this photographer in particular was fond of first meeting scenarios.

Trying not to shift around too much so Jun's solo shots wouldn't look disjointed, she actually ended up reading part of the book. She was turning the page when she vaguely registered Jun's shout. Startled, she looked up and remembered she was working in time to smile in the direction of the cameras. "Bridget Jones' Diary!," she called back.

"Miss Meisa! Good! Look excited to be seeing Mister Jun!"

Though Jun was turning around to model the clothes under optimal lighting conditions, he was close enough that Meisa knew she was no longer a blurry figure in the shots. She stood, hugging the book to her chest with one arm and giving an easy smile as she raised her arm up in hello.

"Yes! I love~ Mister Jun turn slowly back but keep your head turned towards the camera. Smile!" The camera paused its furious clicking. "Miss Meisa, begin walking to Mister Jun, if you will!"

"Mister Jun, stand still now! We shall do Miss Meisa's solo shots!"

Jun remained where he was, head turned slightly away. Which was a little bit dumb since he should have been, by rights, looking at Meisa. "Not that it's not a good book," he said, trying not to move his mouth too much, "but it's kind of a flimsy excuse to end this 'study' date with a movie."

"Towards Miss Meisa now, Mister Jun! Yes, look at her loveliness!"

Jun turned. Meisa was always lovely and the park and the sunlight suited her. He was used to her face but that didn't mean that it didn't make him smile when he saw it. "Hey there," he said. She was closer than he thought she'd be, actually.

"Bashful, Mister Jun! Her freshness takes your breath away as it gives you confidence! Miss Meisa, he is exciting to you! Handsome and natural!"

"You're like a punch to the gut," Jun murmured to her, ducking his head slightly as he looked at her, angling just a bit. Bashful, happy, confident--what kind of messed up mix was that? Meisa was hugging her book to her chest and beaming at him. She really was a stunner. "In a nice way," he added politely.

"Good, good! And we reset! New outfits! Time passes! Hurry, hurry, the light!"

"Call it," Jun said, dropping the bashful awe and knocking Meisa on the shoulder. "Play your cards right and you might even get a movie after dinner." He was weak to Bridget.
