He was standing right outside of the Bluebell Cafe right now. This was perfect. She wouldn't ever think to come looking for him here. What Baku in their right mind would hide somewhere like here? A Baku that didn't want to be caught by another Baku. That's who.
---
Since six when he's woken up an hour and a half ago he had been sitting idly by as he watched his grandmother try to work the new computerized cash register that came in. But it was a good thing she'd finally gotten rid of that 1920's piece of junk. It wasn't like he didn't appreciate artifacts like that, but she'd been losing money with it and had no idea. It was about time she traded it in for a working model. So not only had he stayed behind that morning to set it up but he taught her how to use it and just how important and useful a user manual was. And she thought that was the receipt!
He took up this opportunity to get away and explore, knowing the whole morning and part of the afternoon she'd probably too distracted to notice he had stepped out. Tegoshi had barely begun to scan the city and god forbid if he got lost. New York was known for it's crime, right? And he looked like a defenseless little cream puff for the most part. At some point he had found himself on the curb waving down a cab. Well, why not take public transportation? That was a quick way to get away. Only one thing was really on his mind. There was one place in particular she wouldn't come looking for him (though there was a very slim chance she'd come looking at all). It was easy to flag one down this time around. Again, the cab driver probably though he was a gir--nope. The cab driver was female. He mentally face-palmed before letting himself in.
"Where to?"
"Ah... Can you recommend a good food joint close by? I could go for soup right about now~" he smiled and he was pretty sure he saw her holding back a giggle as she whipped back around.
---
And here he was a half an hour later seated and ready to be served. You'd assume around this time in the morning a New York cafe would be full of people, but as of lately his judgment had been poor. A lot of people worked on Tuesdays so no one had time to sit down and eat a decent breakfast. Jeez... and here he thought he might be able to mark someone here. Well... he could settle for whoever served him. Hopefully they had a good imagination on them~
