Somehow, almost impossibly, Toma had forgotten about that little black dress. When he'd met up with Meisa for their club date, she'd had a coat that was long enough to hide what she wore underneath. But when they headed out in the club, Toma recognized what he was seeing, and his lips slowly quirked up in an appreciative smile.

"You're going to get so much attention," Toma informed her, laughing with a slight hint of nervousness, "I'm going to have to fight to keep men off you."

But if that meant dancing as close to her as possible, and having a way to say 'this is mine, don't touch'? That was actually sort of thrilling. He hoped Meisa felt the same.

"We should get dancing, then!" he suggested when she talked about liking the song playing. That's what they were here for, after all.

And that was why Meisa had wanted to keep her coat on. She didn't want the leering attention from other men. She just wanted to have fun and dance with Toma. The slight nervousness in his voice made her smile and tiptoe so that she could give him a quick peck on the cheek.

"And what about me?" she playfully teased back, "You're looking pretty hot yourself. I might be the one doing the fighting tonight."

Meisa was thinking along the same lines as Toma. Dancing close together all night to send the message that they were with each other 'don't you dare come any closer' had been her plan as soon as they stepped into the club. She slipped her hand into his with a, "Let's go!" and proceeded to lead him down the stairs where the music was.

Well as long as they were in the fight together, then it didn't sound so bad to him. He wasn't sure his level of attractiveness was anywhere near on par with hers, but accepting the compliment made him feel good anyway.

"I haven't been out dancing in a long time," Toma admitted with a sheepish smile as he followed closely behind her.

He wasn't... somehow he wasn't quite sure how to get started. He could feel the music, he understood rhythm, but just... moving. Ah, it shouldn't seem so complicated, but he didn't want to be a failure and a huge dork tonight!

"How long is a long time?" Since finding out that Toma was a star, Meisa had been more aware that his sense of a long time and hers differed somewhat. But dancing was just moving your body to the beat, it didn't really change much aside from moves becoming popular for a while and then fading.

She thought it was still fun to pull out the Running Man and the Sprinkler for kicks when a random song came on.

Downstairs was where the party was at! Not wanting to go into the middle of the crowded dance floor, Meisa found an open spot sort of on the edge and turned to Toma. Hmmmn. "Just... put your hands on my hips," she said loudly so that he could hear her over the music, guiding them there herself then smiling cheesily, "And when I dip, you dip, we dip."

Toma didn't think it was wise to answer that question, even if it wouldn't have been nearly as long as it could have been. He had only been on Earth for a short time. About as long as she'd been on Earth, really. They were well-matched that way.

"Sounds good," Toma acknowledged her with a bubbling laugh, not hesitating to put his hands where directed.

Her dress was an interesting material beneath his hands, but it was the warmth of her body that made him smile. Maybe it was partly the club and all the rest of the body heat helping with that, but Toma liked to think that winter was no match for Meisa's natural glow. Even better than his own.

Through the dress, Toma's hands radiated a warmth that was a nice counterpoint to the stuffy, sticky hot of the club. It felt right, having his hands there and for some reason, that thought sent a small shiver of happiness down Meisa's back.

The smile stayed on her face as Meisa started moving her hips in time to the music and bobbing her head once more. "C'mon Toma," she encouraged, "just let go and move."

Britney's song was ending (Would you hold it against me?), but the next song was one that always seemed to be played the times she had gone clubbing. While the lyrics weren't exactly the best in the world, Meisa couldn't help but mouth, "To the wiiindoooow, to the wall!" as she got low and hoped Toma would follow.

"I thought I was moving!" Toma countered with a laugh, but when the next song started and Toma allowed his eyes to wander, he immediately noticed the difference between himself and Meisa and... everyone else.

Apparently dancing in a club wasn't really so much dancing as it was... dry humping? Or something incredibly close to it anyway. Some of the things he could see would make him blush if he weren't distracted by the way Meisa was suddenly close to the ground. Ah, okay.

He knew he could move his body that way if he was supposed to, he was maybe just... shy? Shy was probably the best term. It seemed much easier to let her doing the dancing and for himself to like... support her?

"Okay," he took a deep breath and dropped, sort of awkwardly in a squat, but he was low!

Toma seemed a little discomfited by the dancing, granted it was less dancing with this sort of song and more sex with clothes on, but he got low!

"Thank you for indulging me," Meisa smiled, amused. She gave him a quick kiss on the cheek as she popped back up and tugged him up with her. PG. She could keep it PG... well maybe PG-13. Like dances in high school... only, those were where everyone learned how to dance like this, weren't they?

The DJ remixed the song with something else. Ah. Beyonce's Single Ladies. Okay, this was a better dancing song! Laughing, Meisa broke out into the dance, somewhat hindered with the short dress, but hey! She managed to do what she thought was a fairly good imitation.

Someone bumped into her and pushed her closer to Toma. Well, if he didn't mind, she could dance close to him all night.

Toma didn't want her to have to keep it PG for him. He really... he should have been able to get a little dirty with his girlfriend. He wasn't sure what was holding him back. A fear that he'd mess something up, a lack of experience, having been her friend first and wanting to make sure she was with the right guy and that he was said right guy... he wasn't sure. But he couldn't keep shying away. Eventually that shying away would become pushing away and he didn't want that at all.

When Meisa was sort of unexpectedly knocked into him, he took that as an opportunity, or more... a sign. He could do this, because his interest in Meisa was real and burning, and any guy would die to have her body within reach.

He loosened up a little, focusing his attention on her and nothing else, and began to get a bit more intricate with his dance moves. It was too bad the rhythm didn't really suit a body roll.

Them taking it slow had given Meisa a lot of time to think about her and Toma's relationship. When left to her own thoughts during a lull at work, she could see herself with Toma for a long time. He wasn't Mr. Right Now, that was for sure. More like Meisa's Mr. Right. But she took her cues from him, mainly because she felt like he was holding back. Just a little. She didn't know why but she hoped that her own signals for Toma would show him how much she cared for him.

Smiling up at Toma, she was about to say sorry out of reflex for bumping into him but abruptly closed her mouth. Her eyes grew wide and she stopped dancing as she watched her boyfriend break out into a dance. Well! This was a surprise!

Meisa couldn't help the pleased giggling that burst forth. "You can so totally dance!"

Toma stopped when he noticed that Meisa had stopped, matching her expression of surprise until she spoke. Then he tossed his head back in a laugh and grabbed at her hips again.

"Kiki, I never said I couldn't dance," he pointed out, giving her a little taste of a grind and fighting back a blush or a bright glow of his skin.

It was time to get bolder, right? To push things just a little more and get comfortable. If he couldn't let loose with his own girlfriend, when would he ever feel free to be his whole self?

This was true, Toma had just never danced like this before! Meisa laughed along with Toma as he pulled her against him. Oh! She smiled crookedly. This was definitely new!

The smile turned slightly wicked as she gave a little grind back. Would Toma glow? She didn't know, but like she had told Ryo a couple weeks back, it was fun to see what would set it off. Besides, it was getting late... people at the club were probably getting past the tipsy stage by now and wouldn't notice an extra light source coming from her boyfriend.

Another song was remixed into the one they were currently dancing to and Meisa let Toma lead. She was having fun matching his moves.

Toma could never really be sure of when he'd start glowing. Mostly it happened when he couldn't control it, like a blush but with heat and light. But then... the same logic could be applied to a flush, so if he got all hot and bothered by their dancing, it was entirely possible, right? Sometimes it happened when he was happy. Sometimes it... well, he didn't understand it himself. When he was in the sky it was a constant, which was much easier to predict (obviously).

"Kiki," he tried to talk to her, but it was hard to know if she could hear him with all the noise. He repeated her name, but this time leaning in to speak more closely to her ear.

"Would you mind... I mean can I touch you a bit more?"

Meisa was singing along to the parts of the song she knew and busy watching Toma move so that she could move somewhat in sync with him. With the bass being turned up, it was hard to really hear anything so she started a little when Toma spoke her nickname into her ear.

Her eyes widened a little in surprise before she smiled widely, feeling a hint of a blush start up. "Of course," she emphasized this by stepping in a little closer, "It was nice of you to ask."

In Meisa's experience clubbing, most men didn't. Not that she would give most men permission anyway, often walking away once they laid a finger on her. But this was Toma, and Toma was definitely welcome to touch if he wanted. Because Meisa wanted him to. She looked at him with a smile in her eyes and waited to see what he'd do.

Toma knew that as her boyfriend he likely had permission to do a lot of the things he was thinking about, at least in moderation. Somehow it still felt wrong to just spring that kind of thing on her, especially when he'd been taking things so slowly and carefully.

But she looked stunning in this dress and it was soft and so perfectly fitted to her skin and it made Toma want to let his hands travel, not keep them stock still at her sides. Whatever song that was playing had a bit of a slower beat to it, not like a slow ballad, but still a bit sensual. It was different for Toma, but he liked the idea of dancing with some sex appeal. He took hold of Meisa's hand and brought it up to rest at his shoulder, eliminating her arm as an obstacle for getting close. Then he pressed himself a little closer to her as he moved, his hands sliding from her hips to her lower back ( ... )

With the slower beat, Meisa had starting dancing a little more smoothly and less energetically than she had been. Toma taking her hand caused her to still, pausing to watch transfixed as he placed her hand upon his shoulder. Focusing on this action somehow caused her to miss that he had moved in closer until she felt his hands slide around to rest at her lower back ( ... )
