Despite this being her first New Year's Eve in the capital of celebration, Anne wasn't keen on braving the massive crowds that piled into Time's Square for the celebration. She could watch it just fine on her television in the warmth of her apartment.
Probably had a better view that way, too.
While Anne didn't want to brave the crowds or try pub crawling tonight, she didn't want to be alone either. Hanging out with her brother and Ohno was pretty much out of the question - they deserved a special night alone. Seeing as she'd only made a few acquaintances at Nino's party, her mind went immediately to Ryo when she thought of who would be the best fit to spend New Year's with. Even with that idea, she'd still been surprised when he'd accepted her invitation. It was a good bet the promise of plenty of cucumber slices helped.
Anne hummed to herself as she sliced away at the cucumbers she'd bought fresh for today. A nice pile sat beside her on one of her nicer dishes, along with a casserole dish full of homemade stuffed shells. And, of course, the champagne was chilling in the fridge. After all, what was New Year's Eve without some bubbly?
