Overall, Christmas hadn't really been that bad of an experience. In past years, he usually spent the day huddling in bed and forcing his current cat to cuddle while avoiding his mother's calls, because really, sorry but he had to work, he couldn't make it down to Jersey and accidentally infect them all with his monster disease.
He'd woke up to stares, but really, that was old hat by now, and then they'd had breakfast and watched old Christmas films and there was cider and lights and presents and singing and it was just like they were a movie themselves. This was the best Christmas he'd had since he'd left home.
Everything had been better since Misono had become his pack.
He sighed, content and cosy. "What did you do last year for Christmas, Misono?" he asked, because really, he didn't know much about the family she had before him, just that they got rid of her. He hoped kind of hoped this was her best Christmas too, even if it made her last Christmas awful, but he couldn't bring himself to feel guilty about that.
