"... and my granddaughter, she doesn't want her children to know about magic," the old witch Meisa had been examining went on. The witch had come in complaining of a head cold that even her potions couldn't cure and had been reluctant to use the antibiotics Meisa had prescribed for the sinus infection. It had caused the old witch to go off on a tangent about the potential of witchcraft dying out due to younger generations not wanting to pass on or learn magic. Meisa had bit her tongue to keep from saying her opinions that may have offended the witch, but her patient took that as a signal to keep talking. And talking. And talking.
Nino's appointment was supposed to be at 2:15, she thought, glancing at her watch and sending a quick mental apology to her friend.
The old witch paused and Meisa smiled, thinking that she could finally get the patient to leave, before the witch continued on with her story. "... won't even let me give protection charms..."
Sighing softly, Meisa listened and tried to find a good place to interrupt. Hopefully Nino wasn't too bored waiting around.
