It had been a pretty typical day at the shop for Aiba. It was long and dragged out and there was no Misono to break up the day (and he was trying not to agonize over whether or not she had talked to Nino yet, the party was so close!). He'd had a nice cluster of customers through the lunch hour, and a few stragglers during rush hour, mostly men in suits.
For a moment, based on the questions one guy was asking, it seemed like somebody had pointed him in Aiba's direction, specifically to have a wish granted. Aiba could sense it when the man walked in the door, and he very nearly panicked. He wasn't prepared to handle this yet. It could throw off everything! The only thing that did keep him from panicking was knowing it would give him away. He managed instead to put on that he had no idea what the guy was talking about, and pretended he was creeped out until the man left.
That...had been close. Damn word of mouth. Stupid greedy Wall St... Well. At least there was only a half-hour left to his shift, and Aiba tried not to be too disappointed Sho hadn't turned up at all today as he abandoned the main counter, leaving behind the bell to go flop down on the couch. He just had to keep himself from outright napping, because if he fell asleep without locking the door at closing, that would be bad. Very irresponsible. Right. ...He was asleep in seconds.
