It was clear, Maki should have taken the day off. Leaving the facility that morning, she barely had time to head home and shower before she'd been off to work. It hurt. She'd been miserable all day. On her feet working in the library's archives meant the slowly healing bites hidden beneath her loosest pair of work pants were twinging with pain with every step or shift in stance.
However, when her shift was finally through, Maki discovered to her own surprise that she wanted desperately not to be alone. She'd spent the week before isolating herself, and the need to talk to someone who Maki did not feel the need to put up her defenses around was growing. There was really only one choice. Bluebell for dinner it was.
Unfortunately, she must have missed Nino. She even asked Andy to be sure but no, Nino had gone home for the day. Now what? She didn't want to stay anyway. Maki felt rather lost as she exited the cafe, until she slowly worked herself around the idea that it would...probably be okay, for her to show up unannounced and uninvited at the fay's door. She'd taken a cab to Bluebell, but Nino's place was in walking distance from here... Still by the time she actually arrived her legs were driving her a little crazy and Maki took a deep, calming breath before she gently pressed the button on the com. What if they weren't home?
